How did you run your exhaust?Chassis or fenderwell?I need to upgrade to 15,s from 14,s on the front. My fenderwells get in the way of turning radius,so might space some 15,s out and run a 205?Also my Hedman hedders are coated inside and outside, which keeps the heat down very well(just a thought for your hedders)Have you taken it to the track yet? How,d it do?Sorry for all the questions, but we early-A guys need to share info.LOL.Thanks

The headers are home built they run down the front side of the block. I am going to a wheel well header. I am estimating the car to run the high 11's, we will find out next spring.

The home made headers work but I doubt that they work well, I think the wheelwell is the best solution for this combination at least for me and I like the period look of them. I know there are block huger and semi fender well also available, custom would be another option. No matter what you do with this combo its not going to be a cheap date.

i have a guy that will make my headers for 600. i would rather have under chassis on my 65 but ifts its impossible do to room constriction, fenderwell will have to do he is going to make a jig for them also. not sure if i want the front exit headers like the ones you have on in picture. i have a stock 400 b block maybe the front exit ones would be easier to make than the fender ones for my application, but would rather have under chassis ones for sure does anyone know aa person that has made under chassis for a big block on an early a body?

TTI, Shumaker and others sell them they are in the $1000 range as are the wheelwell, a guy who will build custom for 600 is a fair price that way you get what you want. You dont want them running down the front of the block.

Hey robs 67plymouth i would be interested in a set of Block early A headers i to im getting ready to put a low deck BB into 62 Valiant and would love some info on the install Im converting the car to a 4 speed so all the help i can get would be much appreciated
Thanks Aaron

I have gutted the interior and gave the modern stuff to a guy doing a 68 chevelle pro street. You know you are going the right direction when you like your interior better gutted than the way it was complete. Lots of work to be done. Headliner is a newstalgia part will advise how it goes in next week with some pics. Ordering a 6 point cage, getting the panels redone then its on to seat mounts and recovering the A100 seats and carpet. More to come.

Here is a bunch of pics on 2 of my projects. both used same 451 B motor, black one was just a test bed as the car was too far gone for a driver, but the silver one is still in my garage. You can see some things worked, some didnt. Pro-Parts headers are a great starting point if you want to modify some off the shelf headers, but 600 custom made is a bargain. I show Hi-po logs and Hooker 5215 and Pro-parts modded. P-P B headers fit better than the small block headers!

I know what you mean about gutting the interioe Craven, mine has a race seat, shifter and some floor insulation.LOL.My car is bare(stripped)again and going for paint this week. Will be updating my thread in Early-A,s soon.

Quick update, hopefully you can see the pictures I can not see pics on the site for some reason these days. Made the tube seat frames just going to plate the outsides of the brackets to give them the A990 look. Door panels go in this weekend, carpet is here need to do the rear delete work and redo the seats. The interior has turned out to be a lot of work but it will be well worth it when done A990 interior in red in a early dart. This car is becoming the car that never was, the whole A990 treatment was a B body thing until 67 when the A body received the hemi. Dont know why Mopar did not use more of the A body cars for the Super Stock effort in 64/65.

Funny you mention seats,I just bought some 66 Cuda seats with tracks for the 66 Dart.Legendary has seat covers on sale now til Jan.3/2011.Just thought I,d mention.Nice work.

Nice, you wont have the mount work or the custom upholstery work, I could not get the seat cover in the color or pattern without making it. I am tying the door, delete and deck in with the same color as the seat upholstery. JP my upholstery guy laughed when I picked from the color chart he said Mopar guys all use the same pallet of ugly colors.

Just a heads up for you guys I found the popper wind lace / door weatherstrip combo at restorationspecialties.com and it was the most reasonable I had found.

The interior will be done soon and I will post some pictures, cant wait to get this thing back on the ground.
