Quick question for you. On that panel you got does it have the fuzzy holes on the top part were the quarter window goes. I was thinking on buying that same side panel just for that area were mine is rusted. I have seen those and always wondered if they have them because they never show a picture of the other side.

Picked up V8 K member and torsion bars out of a 72 Dart at the Pick and Pull today. Not bad for $75.

Built and installed a set of subframe connectors today. I copied the design from one of Mad Darts posts. It was a lot easier than I expected. They fit right in perfectly on the first try.

You sure? I need to check my car and see if they are still there! haaaaaaa

Nice Job!:-D

Awesome man! Im curious to see how the rear "quarter" windows look since you have shaved the drip rail AND the framework surrounding the glass. Def. an interesting mod.
I wish I was able to keep up your pace. I am just behind you in the process but you have blown past me and will be done long before I will! Ill be sure to subscribe man. Nice Job!

Installed the cam and timing set tonight. Also bolted on the RHS heads. Guess I should have verified the the orange paint matched before I painted the heads :disgust: Oh well, I'll just have to mask them off again and make them match. I also tore down the A833 to start the rebuild process.

Don't know how I missed this thread but wow, awesome awesome build. Can't wait for more up dates. You are building my dream street motor.

Cleaned and painted the trans pieces last night. Anyone know where to get the 206L1 bearing for the end of the tailshaft without paying $70 from passion performance?

Finished assembling the trans tonight. Put in new bearings, synchro rings, gaskets, countershaft, and seals. Hard to believe it's 46 years old.

Tore the shifter apart tonight. Removed all the rust and greased everything up inside. I couldn't even get it to move before disassembly but now it's smooth as butter. Hard to believe it's the same unit.

Pulled out the /6 tonight so it's no longer a /6 car... it's a V8 car without a motor.... haha. Gonna deliver the /6 to it's new owner tomorrow and pick up a 318 727 combo to use as a spare setup. Also got the Victor 340 intake today and ordered the Holley 750DP.

Bolted on the front cover and oil pan last night. The intake is just sitting on top right now. Going to order the rockers and pushrods soon and then I'll bolt the intake down.

Just a little update. I removed all of the front suspension and pressure washed the engine bay. Welded up the V8 K member that I found at the pick-a-part and sent it and some other suspension parts to the powder coater. I decided that the XS282S cam wasn't big enough for the 408 so I ordered a 306S cam for it. My Hughes 1.6 rockers showed up a couple days ago so I mocked them up to get the pushrod lengths (FYI, they ended up being 7.3"). Ordered a set of pushrods from Manton yesterday and they arrived today! It's nice that they are so close to me. I plan on installing the new cam and valve train this weekend. I also bought a new MP 120 gph fuel pump today for $75 shipped! It won't be long before the 408 is ready for Brian's dyno. Can't wait to hear it and see the 500+ hp!!

I installed the Hughes rockers and Manton pushrods this weekend. I have to call Hughes because one of the adjusters seems to be defective. I'm also going to order the billet hold downs they produce.
