Been along time since i changed the motor mounts, forgot how tight everything is in there! I decided to spend the big bucks and go with Schumacher poly-loc's, (FYI: you have to git on a waiting list!, I'm still waiting for a call back letting me know they're in.)
If your suggestion is; "bring it to a mechanic with tiny strong hands" trust me, that crossed my mind yesterday as i was struggling to get a wrench in there and see if i could loosen the bolts. But I think i can do it, radiator's out so i have a little extra room in the front.
(the car's on jack stands and front tires removed for extra wiggle room)
This is what i'm thinking i might have to do:
1) remove the lower bolts on the pancake.
2) jack the engine up w/block of wood on a floor jack (FROM THE OIL PAN?)to give me more room for a wrenches, and so i have enough room for leverage.
3) REMOVE THE BRACKETS FROM THE ENGINE? (I can't see a way to get that top pancake nut off)
4) Hope i have enough clearance to get them out! AND back in!
5) seriously thinking about buying a compact, mini impact wrench ands some swivel attachments!
Am I thinking correctly?
