Yes I have two of them. Hard to get a good picture because of there length but they are in good shape. No dents or rust on the chrome. Pm me your shipping info and I’ll figure a quote.
Thank you sir!! I got them the other day and I just now am able to post. They will be perfect for what I need. Thanks so much for doing this for me. Please let me know what I owe you.
Alright I think its time to put this thread to bed. Not much action going on and I had already given up on posting here but I just can't leave it unfinished. So if your out there watching here is the last of the pictures and story. Getting washed up and ready for Fall Fling. At the Fling. Great time, its really the only car show for me. A few shots from its first road test. Doing some detail work. Door panels, thank you dgibby!! Lights, I really love the 68 lights.
The bumpers have been a pain in the ass. I have spent a ton of hours to try to make them straight and smooth. Time to make some noise!!!!
Finally hood trim. I got this from Classic industries which is made by AMD. It fit pretty good. Although the profile of the trim is wrong for a 68 but I doubt anyone will every notice. And now for some of the final shots. This brings us up to date here and the future holds a trip to the track in a few weeks. Right now we removed the motor and trans to swap out the torque converter which was slipping 70% and replace it with a new 9.5" converter from. I have a few engine details to tend to then it'll go back in and the track will immediately follow.
Last but not least. This pic represents friendship that knows no boundaries. The guy on the left is me and the right is my buddy Gary. Gary is the real reason this car is done today. Gary has treated this build as if its his own. I can't thank him enough.
Please don't put this thread to bed until we get to hear how the track goes. Now that it's nearing the finish line are you planning on drag week 2019?
I will update it when we get the results in for sure. Yep we will be doing a lot of testing this year and a trip to dragweek 2019 if I can get in on registration. I’ve been successful the last two years so I don’t think I’ll have a problem. Thanks for all the kind words guys! I used to be on this forum a lot ten years ago but life gets busy and I don’t have much time for the ‘puter anymore.
Gorgeous! I saw a video from the photo shoot posted by Mopar Muscle on Facebook. What did it make on the dyno?
Looks like January 26th is the first test n tune at Fontana. We are gearing up to make that date to start my license and hopefully finish it.
Man you got a beautiful car!!! I'm pretty sure I follow you on instagram as well. I have a 69 Dart GT I hope it turns out as nice as your 68. Love it
I recall reading this thread shortly after I joined FABO, and I clearly missed all the updates you made in the past year...man I'm glad it's come to fruition. Beautiful Dart, looking forward to seeing more!
Thank you! I started that thread many years ago. I really doubted if I would ever finish it. I haven't been on FABO in many years but I had to update my thread, you know, bring it to a close.
I lost second gear on the way back from tech. It broke the second gear lever because it had way too much line pressure. The valve body has an adjustable pressure regulator and so I already took the trans apart and fixed it. If it doesn't rain we will try again Saturday and if it does rain we will go to Irwindale next Thursday. Finding a track that is open around here is tough.
