I also designed some parts to replace the Jeep cam sync with a lower profile Ford one. I have a design for a completely custom one utilizing a Honeywell sensor, but its almost twice as much so I'm holding off on that for now.

Old design, utilizing a stock distributor hold down and spacer not shown.

Here's the new design, Ford sync body with a billet hold down and custom shaft to mate to the oil pump drive.

As you can see, it is much more low profile. My custom one sits approximately 1/2" lower than the Ford one.
That is so slick! Me wants.

I’m not a cylinder head or intake porting guru, in fact far from one, but looking at your intake pic, the radius at the bottom of the flange at the port entry should be much less of an angle and more of a radius. At least from my limited experience and from conversations I’ve had with people smarter than I am. See crude red arrow drawing below.

It’s hard to see in that picture but those areas have I’d say about a .5” radius. I can certainly go more, do you have any pictures of what the pros do?

Wish I did, but I don’t. I have only one ported single plane and it’s on my boat and not easily accessible at the moment. Look up some plenum work by Wilson manifolds.

Got it, I’ll hog out that area more. Thanks for the pointer.

A few more updates. First picture is of some exhaust ports, I'm not changing much about them just some mild cleanup . Second Picture is the completely custom cam sensor.

Heads are done. Just waiting on the new valve seals and then I can set them back up. Also a new turbo showed up in the mail. It’s an S745, it was a nice price but I’m wondering if I should have gone with a S480.

Is that the Honeywell unit you mentioned before? Also are you still going with the 8HP and have you sourced the flywheel/converter adapter already?

Yes to all the above. The sensor needs one more revision to get it exactly how I want it. The converter adapter is the JVX unit and it’s in, just need to double check the converter spacing.

Final sensor revision. Now to get the motor back together and test it out. I talked to Mike at B3 and I’ll be getting some rocker relocation stands. Once those come in I can do the final clearance for the pushrods.

Super clean!! Great job!

You think you’ll want more than an s475? I’m not sure about the psr turbo but a real borg s475 is good for 900ish. You plan on making more than that?

I’ll always want more lol. But really though I’m concerned about EMAP. I’m probably worrying over nothing, but I like the T6 and larger A/R of the S480 sizes.

You’d have to have 550-600hp in front of that thing before you need to worry about that. You’ll be fine and I’ll dare say it’s probably better suited for what you’re doing. If you were closer I’d loan you a t6 1.32ar gt50 Garrett I have here just to compare. It takes a lot of exhaust energy to get that thing spooled up.

The one I bought is a T4 flange, 1.10A/R, 83/74mm turbine. How do you think that will fare?

How much NA horsepower do you think the engine will make realistically? I think you have 800-900hp worth of turbo there. I’m going to assume you’re going to run it at the 500-700hp (10-14 psi) level. So by that assumption you have too much turbo. So backpressure shouldn’t be an issue. You’re actually in a good range I think.

NA horsepower, conservatively I’d say 350hp. .544/.555 230/236 114LSA cam and speedmaster heads.

ETA: I have snake eater sportsman 850cc injectors which I’m hoping will support 750hp on E85.

Yea I wouldn’t put a T6 anything on that. Unless I was trying to set the world on fire. Which I don’t think you’re trying to do. The T4 you have is enough turbo to do what you want and have plenty of room to grow.

Haven't been able to get a lot of physical work done on the car lately, lots of overnight shifts which really takes the wind out of my sails. I got my hands on a 3D scanner so I've been designing some parts to have machined.
