7 1/4 or 8 1/4 by sight?

Can you tell just by looking at the back whether this rear end is an 8 1/4 or 7 1/4 on this 1972 Scamp.

The 7 1/4 has puny axle tubes, thats the first giveaway. Run her till it blows!

Did the 7.25 ever come with a limited slip or posi from the factory

Yes, 7-1/4 did come as a sure grip, but not very many. They are considerably stronger as a sure grip too. I've got one in a 64 Barracuda that has survived and I've torn up a bunch of one leggers.
