I was discussing the shift points of my 727 in my 72 demon with my mechanic neighbor. He was saying that this was controlled by a combination of the modulator and linkage to the carb. There is no modulator on the trans but there is a plug on the right side rear, he said the modulator should be there. I don't remember seeing one on a torqueflight. I do see adjustable modulators offered with rebuild kits, but haven't seen one offered as a separate item. Can someone enlighten me? Thanks.

throttle pressure linkage on carb...and governor inside transmission

Yep! No modulator. They are for Chevy Boys! lol

My neighbor basically called me a moron, come think of it, he drives a chevy. Thanks guys!

You can tell him we all called him one. No Torquelflite uses a vacuum modulator.

Damn Chevy guys even trying to put modulators on 727's now huh? :)

The shift points are controlled entirely by the throttle pressure linkage, and this is the only way the average person is going to change them.
There are lots of internal mods that can be done as mentioned above.

Maybe the neighbor was talking about the Imodium Q-36 space modulator.
