8.75 gasket

pulled off rear chunk and it had hi temp silicone . is it alright to use silicone again or should i get gasket

Scrape it all off, clean it really well, lay down a nice bead of RTV, and button it up.

X2,I,ve never used a gasket,just a nice bead of good silicone.Don,t forget to apply around threads with a wet finger!LOL

I don't know how much effect it has but not using the gasket means you just moved the 3rd member about .030" off center from the wheels. It may not make a hill of beans difference but I always use a gasket, just cause.
