Wasn't sure where to put this, so I figured here. If any one actually bothers to read through this, thank you for your time. For the weekend I figured I'd drive the Plymouth from Bradenton to Ocala to hang out with family. On the way up, it started surging from fuel starvation. I found this a bit strange having a clean tank, new sending unit, new lines, new pump, and new filter. Was also strange that I had been doing 70mph for nearly 100 miles; backed off to 60 and it was fine. I get up here and figure it's Saturday, let's go to OldTown in Kissimee for their car cruise. Does the same surging trying to do 70, so I just run in the slow lane at 60. About 1/3 into the trip, right rear tire blows. A little odd because the tires are daily new and I've never run over anything. Spare gets put on and away we go. Getting onto I4 from the turnpike, I hear a bang with a metallic ping going down the ramp. I didn't see anything in on the road in the mirror, so I pull over. Driver torsion broke in half about seven inches back from the control arm. So, I limp it the last 25 miles and get in the show, park the car and wander off. I come back to it an hour later to put something I bought in it and the guy with the car next to me comes over saying I had to leave because security was looking to kick me out. This made no sense being I haven't done anything to be thrown out. As I'm trying to figure out what this guy is trying to tell me, security shows up telling I can't have my car there, I have to get it out, and don't bring it back until I'm done with my project. My car may not be in the best condition, but she's a reliable daily driver that still looks pretty good and I don't plan on restoring it. Apparently people can't appreciate a classic in unrestored condition. I drove the 80 miles back with no real problem and I don't have much choice but to drive it back to Bradenton with a now removed torsion bar, but I've never been kicked out of a car show for having a car that isn't restored and the Plymouth is the nicest looking car I have; not the best running due to a weak cylinder, but it looks nice from a distance. I even had a trophy sitting in the front seat that it won at a local car show. Oh well, **** happens, I'll get over it. Just needed somewhere to let it out since I don't really have any people I talk to, and the family I came up to see were with me. I'm going to NPD tomorrow to see if they might have a torsion bar, but I may end up just driving it as-is home and go see a friend that I know will have one. So, if you made it to the end, thanks for putting up with me and my old piece of junk.
