Would you use Bloomers for a 450 hp engine build ?
Not if I was 100% sure I was never going to step the power up.
Then I would probably get the cheapest speedmasters I could find, have a competent shop check them over, and toss them on.
My experience is most guys ultimately want to go faster , but in fairness, 90% of the guys I hang with are racers..lol

That's fair, I would agree with that assessment.

I'm sure there's ton's of people that had a shop or bought a crate engine that has just dropped her in and never touched the engine again unless something goes wrong, you don't hear about them cause they don't talk about it.

What is the cost difference between the Bloomers and the Trick Flows?

Would you use Bloomers for a 450 hp engine build ?
spends your money or spends your money later.
A wise man once told me it's cheaper to go faster, he said you know you're gonna want to go faster so spends your money wisely and machine wisely.
My pistons are always cut for a minimum .650 lift and I never, ever, use a head gasket thicker than .040.

Rod reamed me a while back for discussing price, so my suggestion would be to call him or message him on Facebook.
That said, I bought mine three years ago, and paid extra to have them milled to 61cc’s, and I didnt think they were all that much more than trick flows

I bet he did.
That's a custom deal he's got going, price could almost change day to day in today's environment.
It's still a good deal even if they went up a few hundred bucks

Yea, I don’t know about day to day..lol.. but maybe batch to batch. I don’t know if they have changed money wise from when I got mine or not.
He gets a bunch of blank slates, then BES runs Vic’s CNC on them, and Rod then sets them up to the customers camshaft, installing/ setting up all the hardware.

Got it. I was just trying to get an idea of more or less $ than the TFs.

I don’t know what Charlie’s hourly rate is, but so far it certainly seems as though the $$$/cfm gained ratio doesn’t look like it would be favorable.

Bloomers are north of 3k for the heads. Then you need a ported intake to match the raised intake port, and a 1k set of rockers to have acceptable geometry.

To me AFR (SM, Edelbrock etc..) and Bloomers buyers are two very different customers that should want vastly different things from their engines and cars, aren't we talking 12/11's vs 10/9's I don't understand some's push for AFR buyers to go with Bloomers or am I missing something ?

If they did it wouldn't make it a lot harder for the guy's that want Bloomer performance if all the AFR type guy's bought them up :)

Dumb question for you. What upper tier combo would you run without a ported intake and a set of decent rocker arms.
Both the Hughes and Harland Sharp rockers are a grand or better. What would you use that is cheaper?
It’s pretty obvious you have some bias against these heads, I have heard why. But we will leave it at the questions I asked above.
Nothing you can buy can be made to be as fast as the Bloomers for the money, that’s proven fact, whether you like it or not.

That's IS a dumb question. Nothing I said is anything other than fact. And I have no bias against them, that's your own assumption.

Your last paragraph makes an assumption you can’t prove.
