So what is everyone's consensus on the new AFR heads for small block mopars? I have seen them for sale bare for about 600 bucks and change.

They don't seem bad, but they also don't stand out from the pack. It seems like the Trick Flows are the top of the heap right now. Unless maybe Indy has something better.

I have used AFRs in the past on other brands of motors, never had an issue.. the SBM ones fall in line with like SM and edelbrock.. nothing special. but i trust AFR more than the others...

That being said.. i just looked on summit and they are selling an assembled head for $840 which is a good price...

The ones that are $620 are bare although summit shows a pic of a complete head.

The only thing that bugs me bout the AFRs is they started from scratch, could have made something to take on trickflow at the same or better price point but instead said.. naw.. good enough....

BTW... this is a pretty good deal if you add up what the parts would cost going all separate...

k.. bored at work and wanted to look up this stuffs...

Earlie A here on the forum did some tests of SM/Edelbrock heads and they flowed around 270 unmodded (the SM flowed a few cfm more)

this is from AFRs page.. And that is just sad.. they are as-cast ports no cnc porting.. for a street car/driver you probably wouldn't notice.. but just the lack of inspiration from AFR is annoying me..

I was surprised to see the AFR offering. They are not much different than other offerings or their potential as far as i can tell.
SM, Edelbrocks etc.. Probably do similar but 440 hp with a xe268h is really good though, not saying the others wouldn't do the same but so far only seen them with bigger cams putting out similar numbers and torque is up there with a decent 360.
