air pocket release for cooling system?

anyone know the proper way to "burp" the cooling system for any potential air pockets? thanks..

You can drill a small hole in the flat metal around the T stat, and put the front tires up on ramps when filling.

I jack my car up in the front when filling - always works !

I also jack up the back when draining...

I just leave the manifold heater fitting disconnected, if possible unhook the hose at the heater so it's a "taller" port

on my big block becauses there were no heater hoses i would pull a plug from the water pump housing. plus drilled the holes in the t stat...
