Another cheap *** budget 318 build

-
Hold on Dan. How many cc’s is the current head and how many cc’s are the Magnum head?

Before you recommend a performance aspect and make a suggestion, please tell me and all of us here how many high performance MoPar engines you have built.

Depends on the 318 head.
Not all 318 heads are open chambered.
I honestly don't know what the cc's of those heads are.

The whole thing is Dan, you haven’t built jack in a high performance engine.

Now your giving advice?

Faulty advice.

This is what ruins the forum. Has others not knowing any better thinking they know something, even worse pressing your faulty knowledge to other resulting in lost or poor performance and shitty driving and running engines.

My personal pet peeve is when these Assholes, like yourself, come to car meets and tell me what I did wrong and how it would have been better if I did the dumb **** like you post.

You so t know what your talking about.
You haven’t learned JACK here because for the time you have been here you should have picked up who knows what the heck they are talking about and what works and doesn’t.

You can not decipher what is good intel from running down your leg diarrhea is!

Those cc amounts are listed in several books. Since you want (or wanted last I remember reading) a small block, those cc amounts should be tattooed in your head. But you screwed up basic information.

BASIC INFORMATION DUDE!!!!!!

Do the forum a favor and open up a book to the information.

Better yet, don’t post answers.
You are woefully ill equipped!

I’ve been off this forum (and on line in general really) for a good bit now with a good number of people that is a list a bit long to name names here and now wondering where I went and when I’m coming back.

Why the **** am I here when a douche bag still runs amok spreading horrible advice and not get riddled with comments and STFU’s for being so dumb?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!!!?

I have to get out of here.
Good night.
See ya in the funny papers!

Thanks to the dozen or so calls and numerous emails and messages about my welfare.

The above keeps me away and I have a ton of work to do on a verity of stuff.

I’ll see some of my pals at the track.

Don't go away. Dan and I have had dozens of conversations about his content. There are a lot like him around but he has dug himself a deep hole. @Dan the man, I am going to say this in public. Just WTF are we supposed to do here with you? Loose all our older core member because they are tired of all the BS or what? I know hat I should do to keep may be hundreds of members happy. You know the answer. I allow you to remain here yet you pissing people off. (including me) May be it's time for you to go join Moparts. Nuff said. Send me a final PM on your way out.

I'm pretty I'm on the top of Rumble's hate list, at least in his top 5 :)

Not everybody get's along here but I am getting pretty tired of looking over my shoulder for trouble with every post. If you know what I mean. I damn tired of babysitting.

100% don't blame you for not wanting to baby sit , were all supposedly adults here, that have the same interest, we should be getting along better.

Maybe if dan spent all his knowledge and expertise keeping his and his friends cars running right instead of telling everyone else what they should do and he's yet to do the world could be a better place. Yet he's constantly asking for advice he's not applying in his own scenarios and constantly giving advice on situations he has 0 expertise in and knows nothing of.

There's always the ignore feature, which I use. Unfortunately, the new people that come on looking for help don't know the history. Better he keep his current username, instead of getting another one, that way my block works.

I like reading the infos so I can steal knowledge, but every now and then the threads become an everyone vs Dan debate. Dan says something wrong or makes some other mistake and everyone piles in to comment and point it out. It happens so regularly it's like Dan is a celebrity here, but also the unofficial FABO verbal punching bag (unofficial because the admins have not made it official). Even I have made a few Dan jokes, but everyone needs to learn when to back off and Dan needs to learn when to shut up. Really Dan, you are on the web, fact check yourself before commenting.

Just to let everyone know, I don't dislike anyone here yet. Everyone has their flaws, but also has some good qualities, we all can't be perfect.

Yep. I dont mind people who have actually done stuff disagreeing but people who have never built a damn thing spouting off is harmful.
It is terrible on the jeep forums.

Good parts choice for a street friendly cruiser. I would try & get a dual plane intake & donate the Offy to the local scrap metal yard..

Flow over compression. Works every time. Don’t sweat a minor gain or loss in compression.

Magnum heads and 308 heads both have cracking issues but in non problematic areas. At least until the crack is grand crayon wide & deep. Once the valve can’t seal, that’s when there is a problem. But you’ll never know until you look for

Hmmmm. I do have a tunnel ram and a box of old AFBs sitting on a shelf. Probably have a couple of 500 cfm units in there. I'm not worried about good street manners with mine as it is being used to introduce the kids to bracket racing and will probably live its life between 3500-5000. Although it would take some tweaking to bolt the t-ram to magnum heads.

Mount it, check port match and how it sits against the heads and block. Make the adjustments if your so inclined to line everything up.

Use “White Out” with a brush in the cap as the paint pen style may not get all the head marked when marking the holes for placement to drill and tap the holes.

While you really in need the ends to be marked for drill and tapping, the gasket can cover the rest of the holes. Drill bit to 90*’s against the heads intake surface and start drilling.

Getting that first bit for a pilot hole is the longest one to drill and that’s a total of 10 long drilling sessions.

A pair of 600’s would be OK as well. Even more so given the rpm range of operation.

Low 13s here we come lol.............

I went 13.9's with a low compression 318, 272 advertised duration/.455 lift cam, 318 smog heads with stock valves. Factory cast TQ intake. Short block was factory assembled. 3.55 gears. Who knows, you might plunge deeper in the 13's :)

Update so I got Looks like imma need a new motor. I believe this dart blew a head gasket in 1988 and sat since. Motor is seized. Looks like a used 5.2 magnum swap is coming. Got the truck open been locked since 1988 lol

Probably sell some parts in there

Probably sell those carbs, there was a leather Harley Davidson saddle bag, cylinder heads, engine testing equipment.

Hopefully raise enough funds for a used magnum 5.2.
I got this car for free fixing a 1972 Ford bronco, I’m trying to have as close to zero dollars in it lol. Hopefully by selling parts I can get close to that!

If I get funds for the 5.2, that leaves the brakes.

I’ll blow the lines out I have a complete front 10 inch drum assembly I pulled of my running car, also have wheel cylinders on a extra rear end. I have a used 600 edelbrock laying around, gas tank I’ll just run a rubber line into the car with a 3 gallon tank for now.
