we were @ the junk yard this morin, and was looking @ some leather heated Subaru Outback front bucket seats,,,We have a 2006 Outback and those heated seats are good in winter and long drives when back sore from work..were building a 1968 Dart.

I think they were out of a 97+ caviler. I got them from my teacher because they were going to be tossed. I get a lot of complements on them for some reason and they are nice and comfy.

I dont know, id say non OE seats never look as good as stock...but...I have seen viper seats in old mopars that I have to admit looked pretty cool, and im sure comfortable

It is your car. Do what ever you want. If you like the way they look, ect. Put them in. You can usually make any seats work in just about any car.

Mine has GM high backs - total cost (with new upholstery) including tracks $42.00. I have a really nice set of buckets out of a Coronet I wanted to use, but the price of A-body tracks is ridiculous so they're going in the Satellite instead.

Not in a Dart but in a 68 Cuda. I have 90 mitsu Talon seats in my Cuda. Why? Because original seats for my car in terrible condition generally cost $250 or more and will need $500+ worth of work to look new. The Mitsu seats recline and have adjustable lumbar support and only had about 50,000 miles on them so they look new and cost $75 and are very comfortable. As 68383gts said they don't look period correct but if your real short on money and have no seats they work just fine plus their easier on a bad back than originals.

I have a set of A-100 seats I was going to install in my 64 Sart. They didn't look right so it's back to the stock buckets and the A-100 seats got to Springfling swap meet.

Yes, I've seen lots of late model seats in A-bodys. It is a running joke at the local performance shop. Anytime someone gets a car, everyone wants to know what seats were in there. My old '69 Swinger 340 car had a pair of '72 Vega buckets in it...I gave them to a guy for a '57 Chevy, and paid good money for a '69 bench seat. They look as bad in the Chevy as they did in the Dart. They would look good in a Camaro though. Usually the height is an issue...particularly under the legs in the front.
It was a big trend back in the old street machine days.

I just have a thing about non Mopar seats in them.
I bought different cars with non Mopars seats.
Had to change them as soon as posible.
Got a Cuda with 70 Camaro seats and a Duster
with Firebird seats.
I'm sorry, it just rubs me the wrong way.
Just my 2 cents worth.

I agree, unless its mopar Im not crazy about seeing non oe seats in old mopars

Build the look and feel you want even if people hate it because you only go around once and you should enjoy yourself. It's all about vibe and feel and many different kind of seats can fit a certain vibe imho. If you are not building a totaly stock restoration what is the difference?

I agree. I'm the one who has to sit on 'em, and live with 'em if they're uncomfortable. I could care less what others think of how they look.

I hade a set in my 75 Dart that came out of a one of those little Daytona Chargers. I put black seat covers on them and no one even noticed they didn't belong there.

You should have seen Tammy bouncing through the Junkyard with one of these things perched on her head! :love7:

I am putting early 70's AMX/Javalin bucket seats in my Duster. Mainly cause they are cheap.

i have an honda prelude front bucket seats .. they are black for now , but once my interior finished they gonna look like it camed with it !

its not the best thing .. buts i prefer but $$ on something else for now than my seats .. got to take the car runnin first !

Also later seats tend to be lighter! a good way to shave a few pounds and get a seat that has side support for cornering.

Way back when...I guess around '86 or so, when I first bought my 340 Swinger, I wanted to swap the bench for buckets. I had a B body pistol grip shifter, a '71 duster console and some buckets from my buddys '68 442. After some fabrication to get the pistol grip to fit and function well in the console and mounting the seats, I really liked it...for about 2 weeks. Out came all those parts and in went the original stuff, BTW, the bench and the original shifter handle is still in the car and I will never change it again.
