How do I get a big red X for that post?
The 600 eddy carb is certainly not helping the 60'.I'm sure he has, but he is still slow for the combo. It may not be as simple as turning the dizzy. Or it may only be the eddy carb needs replaced by a 650 Holley DP.
3310lbs, 3.55's x 26" tyres?

60 Foot E.T. : 2.01
1/8 Mile E.T. : 9.13
1/8 Mile Trap Speed : 74.46
1/4 Mile E.T. : 14.47
1/4 Mile Trap Speed : 93
1/4 Mile Trap RPM : 4,252 with 2 shifts.
A converter and a good tune and could be in the low 14's I reckon, 13.5?...I doubt it, that needs 266fwhp, can a true 50hp be gained if the tune is off some?...depends how wrong it is now, it don't sound that bad with that mph, its just the 60...even that 15.02 should be in the high 2.0's.
with 3.91's and same hp you'd be>

sea level numbers.
just a few quick calcs I did.
How is it when I say you're not going to turn this guy into 13.5 I'm derailing the threadquestion mark but the next guy behind me says it and gives out all the numbers and it's legit? and it's been well said by others you don't want to barely make the 13-5 index obviously you want to blow that away and be able to do it easily if that's the end expiration?..Well...Jpar has derailed another thread.
We should give a FABO award once a year for derailing threads. We can call it the Jpar and just award it to him every year to keep things simple.
Well done Jpar. You are the BEST at derailing threads.
I would love to see you back that up!I'd bet my house I could tune 50 into that combo. Then add in the converter and the gear and it should be an easy mid 13 second car. That is just stupid easy any more.
I'm old enough to remember how hard it was to get in the 12's and drive it on the street. Especially when all the 13 second cars that had 500 HP.
Today 12's is like falling off a log. 11's are pretty much the same.
Hell, a decent 380 inch engine with decent heads can drop into the 10's all day long.
Well you'll find that to be the biggest miracle this Forum has ever produced..I would love to see you back that up!
I would love to see you back that up!
BWAHAHAA! How do I ALWAYS end up in your posts???? lolBut just like 318 has valves that will not fly you like to twist the conversation to suit your discussion...
There's some good bang for your buck fly him out there.. bahahaha...I would love to see you back that up!
Fly me back there or bring the car out here. There's more in what you have than you think.
Well the honor is all yours...BWAHAHAA! How do I ALWAYS end up in your posts???? lol
Best bang for the buck. replace the Edelbrock carb with a Holley. 1-2 tenths right there.
not stirring any pot. It's been proven over and over. It only took me 30 years of running Carter to figure it out.And you jokers call ME a pot stirrer!!!! That's classic right there.
And not wrong. But you are still stirring the pot. And I love it.

So the best bang-for-the-buck is buying an entire new carburetor to gain one 10th... LOL... I hope 30 years of research gained you more than that...Best bang for the buck. replace the Edelbrock carb with a Holley. 1-2 tenths right there.
That's right out of the box. The Holley would be a good foundation for bigger gains with the addition of previously mentioned parts. So the best bang-for-the-buck is buying an entire new carburetor to gain one 10th... LOL... I hope 30 years of research gained you more than that...
What he says^^They recommend you shift into 2nd gear with a 727 because it puts a heavy load on the rear sprag and can make it explode when dragging back on first gear. as in it's best not to wind out first gear and let off real fast. Best to just shift into second then let off...
