Best performing non offset Small block Mopar heads

-
There is a 'wizard' that seems to get a lot out of using junk parts. His name is Dan Smith, I never met him but I see he's done a lot with reworking OEM SBM heads and flat tappet cam. (9.68@ 3200lbs). Last I read he was working a set of TF heads to see what he could do but that was over a year ago. Haven't heard much from him, hope he's doing well!

Must be ( SPS )
Small ***** Syndrome
Everyone has an opinion just like an
*** Hole !!!
You are correct 100%
I appreciate this. I'm old, 49, I get very grouchy. I get it, I'm just calling people's momentary bad energy when I see it. I do it too, I wouldn't share and post if I didn't expect to be questioned. But I saw an attack or two that is really unnecessary.

Wow hard to get a word in edgewise here.. so it seems to me you just have another semi-hyped up airwolf and the fact that it's not being pushed and readily available leads me to believe that the results are about the same as any well ported Edelbrock style head. By not putting the head out there it makes it really easy to control the information about just how good the head is. And as mentioned and very informative this is just a well ported Edelbrock style head no magic.

I think there was an unnecessary attack on both Rod and Vic Bloomer, I mean what does anyone on here care if they are working on a set of heads and there is a limited supply??? I haven't seen either one of them on here or anywhere else trying to pump them so in my opinion a lot of people on here are just angry and jealous......and as far as the best small block head porter out there a person would be a fool to not mention Brett Miller because he has done more for the big power N/A crowd than anyone ever has and probably ever will. I have personally spoken to Rod before and I can tell you that he is the nicest and most honest guy any of you will ever have the opportunity to associate with. I would absolutely buy a set of heads from Rod before any of the other vendors in that head platform because I like supporting the little guys and although I have never met and or talked to Vic Bloomer I know a lot of way smarter people than who is commenting on here to vouch for his knowledge and that would be all I would need.

Word of mouth will sell as many as the owner wants to fool with.

I don’t doubt that at all.

But at the same time, I don’t see any indication from BPE that they’re looking for that to be a very big number of units.

The original head was at least marketed to some degree.
So far at least, I seems like there is radio silence from Rod this time around.

Of course, none of that has any bearing on the capabilities of the heads themselves.

Maybe the motivation behind them was more about making a statement than actually selling product.

I had to refresh my memory on my best with Edelbrock heads with the same engine listed earlier. My 1970 duster is a bracket car not an all out go fast car. I sacrifice ET for repeatability. With a 1.76 low gear powerglide, geared for 1/8 mile racing 4:88 gears, and hauling some 14-32 slicks at 2880 pounds that engine ran [email protected] at Keystone Raceway Park in summer heat. Again with the same wore out engine.
Your such a bull shitter John........the only people that you will convince that you run basically " junkyard " type engines and yet still go kinda fast for what they are also probably have to continually wipe the drool from their mouths all day long too......GET OVER YOURSELF and do youself a favor and put togethor an engine that isn't a worn out POS in your eyes.....GEEEZZZZZ

I take it these are the heads being batted around:

BPE

$2125 for bare castings and then all the selective parts and required setup total OTD cost would likely be?

Nope.
That was the first version from like 4 years ago.
Makes sense as his FB page is pretty much inactive, his website is down.
All this head talk here reminds me of the guitar world.
With guitars and amplifiers there is a phrase used to describe amps that are hand crafted, hand wired, small run offerings, high end offerings etc that are referred to as “Boutique Amps” Everything about them has been well thought out. Circuits optimized for a certain result or output. You have your Fender, Marshall, Mesa etc and then there are these Boutiques ....Victoria amps for example. You get the same type opinion/reactions to the brand names and the boutiques. No different here. Anyone can buy the Speedmasters, Edelbrocks, TF’s ProMaxx’s from a catalog ready to go, bolt on and roll or they tweak em/have them tweaked, or you go boutique. This Bloomer head is a boutique head. If I were inclined to buy a head like this there would be no need to tweak it as we have to assume all that’s been done.
Looks like a small niche head derived from the same castings as many other offerings.

Heck I figured everyone would be all excited. But then again there's always the doubters.

A quick message to Rod yielded a little info, a price, and a number to call and speak with him about them.

if I remember correctly, you were creaming in your jeans about TF’s when they first came out now you are saying they are not super impressive? It was you and that dipstick yellow rose trying to convince me the TF was the head to beat without anyone showing any proof of the heads performance. Strange how people get on the band wagon a push a product that hasn’t been proven. that’s why I stick with W2’s.
You simply do not remember correctly or let your emotions cloud the facts of what I and allot of others were saying. They are a far superior head for the money then anything else on the market, I stand by that 100%. Show me one head for the same price that has corrected rocker geometry, revised chamber, fully cnc ported, top notch quality components as well as made right here in the US, "creaming my jeans" grow up man.

Lets put it like this. I would bet money you could put any other non offset Mopar production style head on it, and it would slow it down.
Why be a hater, just saying i think the head makes impressive power. I have been around long enough to have an informed opinion… i could care less if nobody on here ever is fortunate enough to get a set. It wont change my life one iota

Then why even mention it? All I am seeing here is the same antics of kids, I know something about _______, that you don't know and I'll not tell you, so go down to the library, search the card catalog and then go find the books on the subject.

This whole thread is a damn cocktease. Ot is annoying, it is not informative, it is not helpful.

The difference between this **** and eddy or trick flows or promaxx or speedmaster is those are all available to everyone who has the cash but no connections, I know a guy who knows a guy...

It's all bullshit until Bob Slob or Joe Shmoe can buy it. Kinda like those Passon a855 transmissions.

I don't think the current head was ever meant to be a large production item. More or less to see what he could do with them after the trouble his brother had.

that’s not the way I took it. As often as they were injected into every head post I figured they would be out and about any time now.

Maybe you have comprehension issues.......you should spend more time putting together your garage sale parts engines that your so proud of and run them in your 2400lb car and keep your entourage in awe.

I wonder if there was a pile of castings sitting around that needed a different plan....... than the previous plan....... to be able to move them along.

again you seem to forget what you said. I simply asked YOU and the all knowing YR to show me the proof that the TF is the best preforming head. You 2 couldn’t give me any proof. Very simple man, show me the proof.

Not sure why you keep bringing up a past member but you clearly have an axe to grind, I stand by the facts, as this has no relevance to bloomer heads have a nice day.

Man I must have really butt-hurt you. . I have you on ignore but some of your posts are to good to pass up. Shouldn’t you be shopping for race parts because you aren’t capable of doing your own work. Lol

Never read of anyone here creaming their jeans, jacking off to or proclamations that the TF heads were the best performing heads. I’ve read of members fingering them though. No idea if the same guys also slapped their dicks all over these heads when they looked at them or after pulling them out of the boxes. I wouldn’t say there was anything wrong with that, especially in today’s world. What they do with their heads is their business.
Sure seems like there is some dick slapping, creaming of jeans and jacking off regarding these Bloomer heads going on though. Swank and Hustler just don’t cut it anymore perhaps:eek:

I don't build my own engines for the sole reason that 1 made 786 and the other 976 and those that understand things realize that when you start making power N/A that everything has to be spot on clearances wise and parts selection/assembly wise or you have issues so I would rather stick to what I do that makes me multi six digits a year and then pay an expert or experts to do those things. If i was building worn out junk that I sourced the used parts at a swap meet and knowing going in that it was a very basic run of mill type street/strip build then yes at that point I would do my own.
