Most of the timing cover bolt holes are tapped thru, either into the water jacket or the block interior (oil), so you need to use thread sealant any time you remove them. I used gasket sealer, which stays sticky. You can clean it with ethanol. Also, if an earlier block (64 - ??), there is one hole on the lower driver's side that later timing covers don't have, so you need to insert a set screw w/ sealant and cover w/ RTV to support the gasket.PS for those like me who don`t know this -the timing cover bolts you remove / replace with the PS pump pivot bracket bolts are into the water jacket of the block so be prepared to get your feet wet DOH lol
