Bonneville Landspeed Racing - Let's Try a Thing.

Feeling very defeated today.

So I have Tilton dual master cylinders for brakes and a single for clutch. All are bench bled, but nothing builds pressure or bleeds. Clutch throw out bearing was leaking, pulled the trans out, repaired and reinstalled. Still nothing.

This back, neck, thoracic issue is disabling. I hurt in places I didn't know I have. Throwing in the towel for today. 1.5 days spent and no closer. I give.
I'm like this with my truck now. Had the engine out for repairs and back in. New cam flat. It has 100PSI oil pressure though, I got that issue fixed. Going back with my tried and true Crane Fireball and new lifters. Hopefully that fixes it.

So you did get the brakes to come out good?
I got the rears bled and the clutch. The fronts just won't. I made thr call to get a new master cylinder. Upping to 1" bore from thr 3/4". It sounds like fluid is getting past the piston.

Best of luck there. Been there before. Sucks to have a freah build and start over again. Grrrr

Well, just got home from picking up some parts. Got me a set of Indy 440-1 max wedge port aluminum heads that look like they have been ported and opened up to 2.25/1.81 valves, triple valve springs, titanium retainers and Jesel paired rocker arms. This will be the CFM I need. Now I just need everything else...

Forgive me for not going back and reading through all 29 pages, what size engine here? My pea brain read 383 and said will those intake valves clear the bore?

Best of luck with the medical issues! Your resolve is to be commended.

The first trip out will be with the 383 in the car. Just get through tech and make some salt passes. For these, I want to stroke my 400 to 470. I have a 260/270 @ 50 solid cam already for it. Have to grab parts as they come available.

Thank you for the wishes. I hope this will resolve my some of my issues.

So, the lab at work is going to flow test my heads next. I am excited to see the numbers. I didn't have locks, so I ordered some Manely titanium 10⁰s to go with the titanium retainers that came with the heads. There are triple springs. I wanted to be good with the spring pressure and rpm.

Also, scored a SFI3.2/-20 Fire Suit for an amazing deal. I hope it fits better than my current -5 suit.

For Bonneville specific updates, my buddy decided not to bring his car out to WOS this year. He leaves tomorrow to help his good friend with his streamliner during Speed Week. That said, there is little time to finish up the car ans learn the new EFI system before WOS in 6 weeks.

I plan to go out anyway. Not sure if driving or flying, but it would be good to go. Weather dependent of course.

Oh no! Rain and wind heading out to the salt. Fingers crossed not too bad...

Speed Demon 3 just crashed. Prayers for Chris. The live stream taken down. Car was super airborne. Was at 287mph at the 2.25 mile
