Nascar also has rules that they need to follow. Cowl induction is a great place to pick up air, but also have to consider sealing the carb to the opening, also slowing the air down once inside the scoop. Slowing the air down increases pressure. A properly shaped scoop (not just the opening) will get you 1-2Psi of pressure. ...boost. There is a lot of science behind all of this and I know very little.Just curious.. if front opening is better why do nascar guys use the low pressure cowl area at 200mph?
