Just heard on the news tonight.....

Every time the price of gas goes up a penny .01.....it costs the post office $8,000,000.... Yes 8 million $$ is what they said.

Of course, the newscaster didn't say...per year...per week....per decade...

Still out of all of our pockets I believe. :salut:

Just think of what the rising fuel prices are doing to what we are going to be paying for goods at the store wheather it be clothing, furnature or good ol food for the table. People in the trucking industry are very aware of this, the food industry relies heavily on diesel fuel for the trucks as well as the refrigerated equipment to get it to the stores and restraunts. I don' think our narrow minded governments realize just how bad the fuel prices as well as their heavy taxes on the fuels is impacting the little guy.

I've heard that before.1 cent per gal. equals 8 million per year. The reason I often suggest they end Saturday delivery. The post office is a non profit org. thus those odd stamp prices we've seen, ie 32 cent 41 cent.
Saudis are increasing crude oil production by 200,000 barrels a day because they are afraid we'll find ways to save and they'll loose in the long run.
