Cars you'd sell your A body for

-
Hell, I am so mixed up now. We had a discussion a few minutes a few months ago about where we wanted to be at the end of our car Hobby and I said that I wanted to own a 64 Dodge. So far I have posted a 64 Dodge Dart a 69 Dart GT, a 64 Dodge polara a 69 Super Bee or Coronet and I'm all mixed up as far as where I need to go. I want them all. Lol

65-66 Corvette Coupe. I had a 65 and a 66. I did a 3 year frame off on the 65. It had Factory AC. WHY DID I SELL IT.

I honestly don’t think I would sell my Duster for any car out there. I HAD to have a 72 (the best tail lights of any Duster) so I drove over 500 miles one way to pick it up. I like a lot of a-bodies but the 72 Duster’s are by far my favorite.

That said, there are cars that I’d LOVE to have, I just wouldn’t sell my Duster to get em. A few years ago I would’ve said my dream car is a triple black 68 Charger but now my dream car is my Duster once it’s “done”. The 68 charger has fallen to 4th place, following a 69 Superbee at number 2 and a 69 Coronet wagon (done up to look like a Superbee wagon) at number 3. I’d also like to have a 68 Roadrunner, a 71-72 RR/satellite/Sebring and I’d love to have a triple black ‘70 Challenger T/A.

As far as non Mopar’s, I’d take a triple black ‘69 Boss 428 Mustang.

I 100% love my Dart. I bought it as the baseline I would be happy with and have sunk countless hours and dollars into making her mine.

But....

I lost my dream car in a divorce. A 1969 Charger, R/T 375hp 440 car. I’d trade straight up for my old Charger right now. Unfortunately, a Charger of most any condition commands prices out of my reach.

I will never sell my Duster. It's connection to my Dad who is now gone ensures that. There will likely be other cars during my life but this one will stay. If my kids sell it when I'm gone then it will someday be sold, but not by me. I'm into stuff most guys think of as too new for a Muscle car. 74 Charger, 74 Road Runner etc. If course I love the 60s and earlier 70s stuff too, but I don't love the prices that usually accompany them.

I’ll probably have my dart till they take my keys away. But I would love a 71 340 from the factory Duster, sassy grass green.
Would like a big block B-body like a 68-69 Coronet or superbee. Love the 70 superbee’s too. Although the B bodies probably wouldn’t fit in my garage.

Those B-body cars are to big and heavy. I'd rather have a 340-360 A-body or a factory big block A-body

See how your 68 Dart outruns your 69 Roadrunner.....

By design of course. The roadrunner can hold its own pretty well for being just a streeter. Even has one of them six pack thingys that don’t work. Or so I’ve been told.

I wouldn't trade it for another car but for the right Allison Bassboat it would have a new owner in a new york minute......

Every once in a while someone posts a thread on cars you wish you had. My question is whether there is a car out there you would sell/trade your A body to get? This is mine, and I know it's not everyone's cup of tea.

I DID sell my 66 Valiant wagon when my Dad gave me his 63 Avanti that he bought new. It needs some things, but it has a lot going for it...red/black, R2/4 speed, 60,000mi and it was my Dad's.

If I had to pick the one car I would sell my GTS for, it would be this one. Exactly as pictured with a 440. I would change the wheels to aluminum slots though...

Apparently it’s a few people’s cup of tea, I have never gone to a car show and seen 7 Avanti’s at once, yet last summer there was a small show here that had that.

I would like a DDart. Wait, I already have a 66.
You have a 66 but it's not a D/Dart. Still working on getting my "other" D/Dart on the road. Now the rear pinion seal is leaking. Just got the seal to fix it. Now the fun begins.
I rethought my trade/sale of the car for another car. It'd have to be one of the new Demons.
