Chrysler reviving the Cuda

-
Theres no tooling money involved they'll just do what all the big three have done through-out history and go limited production third party ie...Ghia , LeBaron ,Fischer Body etc, all the parts exist already with 4 or 5 people offering "Cuda" packages ,including Vert packages like the Mr Norms cars

I have always been a Plymouth guy. New Dodge (and jeep) is my fix. but i am all for this. I agree that it needs to be a less optioned version of the dodge. GPS? pass. GPS if for traveling or people who shouldnt be behind the wheel anyway. It is the Cuda. make it a cuda. 392 hemi, no power options. manual tranny. If they want to make a luxo edition thats find but let it wear chrysler adornments.

I am not a fan of the new Charger but I am a big fan of the new Challanger. I nearly bought a 5.7 RT Classic Pkg as stripped down as i could get with the manual trans and it was only 32K. But i am still building my 67 notch so i am waiting. but if they bring out the new "Cuda" with the new aluminum 426 hemi I will probably try to buy one. As far as the other brands go, i like the new Mustangs and the Cameros as well, I just would not spend my money on one of them. I think Ma Mopar is getting it right. I just hope Fiat does not fuss it up! The new Chally kicks *** and if it is too heavy or big, there is always an original 70/71 builder out there to be had somewhere. It is only money and it is not going to make the trip to the other side with me! That is my $00.02 on the matter. 8)

Good lookin car that doesn't deserve the name plate in any way shape or form. I'd own one if it didn't say Charger on it. I'd own one if it were a 2 door, with or without the Charger nameplate, but would prefurrr it named something else. Don't care what they name it, but not Charger.

Actualy, Avneger would have been a better name for the Charger and something else for the smaller actual Avenger. Like OMNI!

As an L-body lover and a 80s dodge guy, I would be thoroughly upset if the avenger was an "Omni". Would be such a disgrace to the name, hahaha

I am hearing rumors of fiat bring turbo engines back into Chrysler/Dodge models.... I'm more excited of what could become of that then trying to rebuild cars that you can't come close to as far as cool factor goes of the originals.

They should do the 'cuda up as the contender for the Mustang and Camero, small, light, nimble, fast....put the overweight out classed Challenger in a category it can actually succeed in, NOSTALGIA. I love driving them, plenty of power, comfortable, gorgeous but its just no match, it wasn't when mustang had the 4.6 and its getting utterly blown away because of the 5.0. CRYSTLER GIVE US A CAR THAT SELLS ENOUGH THAT WE GET GOOD AFTER MARKET SUPPORT FFS. The 5.7/6.1 are wicked awesome motors, one of my all time fav's....now just give us a friggn decent car to put it in

that roadrunner concept is the BIGGES PIECE OF **** I have ever seen! mess with the chargers challengers cudas and what ever else you want but NEVER EVER TOUCH THE ROADRUNNER

They already did with those "joke" f-bodies..

if i may pop in ive never owned a cuda and prolly wont ever get one nor will i get a cool *** road runner im currently looking at a duster but i have many pics and seen cudas and road runners and imho dodge chrysler watever the f*** they wanna call themselves has given in to wat everyone wants a boring ol car you can get 4 or 5 ppl in and the mpgs and garbage that ppl call creature comforts gps users read a map its wat their for! a/c? roll down the window and drive faster! power windows mirrors and locks? crap just something else waiting to fail as everything is designed to go out at certain mileages and smaller motors? muscle cars has huge monsters under their hoods and stick shifts so you feel how the car works. cars are supposedly improving but wat im seeing is that ppl are just getting lazier and dont wanna do the upkeep but chrysler did all of this and gave in so they can compete with the chubby and ford but if i remeber right and ive read enough ( which im prolly wrong) but the top cars of the big 4 chubby ford dodge and plymouth in 69 and 70 was ( these are not in order by the way) the ford mustang boss 429 or 428 cj cars the plymouth road runner with a 440 six pack charger 440 six pack or hemi the cuda with a hemi and 440 and chubbys cheveelle 454 ss and a gto judge with a 455 and the nova ss with a 396 they were desinged for one thing 1/4 drags and stop light racing period. and they looked and sounded good doing it they lacked in handling yes but they werent meant to race at a track my 2 cents if theyre gonna make the new cuda then go with the supercuda they did its the origional body design and looks with better handling and updated " HOT RODDING" AND A STICK SHIFT 5 OR 6 SPD OR EVEN A 4 SPD SHOULD BE STANDARD! a hemi ( an actual hemi not a 350 pos with hemi heads a 392 would be good as they made those or a 426 hemi but theyre hard to find and a 440 6 pack as an option and i agree with the others just call it a cuda' or hemi cuda' and nothing more as for the road runner how about an a12 version with the same engine combos and just call it a road runner everyones gonna know who made them anyway right?

Remember that years ago trying to get that 4000 + car to get up and go wasn't easy. Still isn't but it getting a lot easier

Yes, but imagine how much faster and better handling they would be at around 3500 lbs. or less. Top Gear might just look at US cars as serious competion and it would be a Camaro/Mustang killer hands down.

At that weight, they were big block cars with A/C and everything else. My s/b Cuda is a few hundred light of the porky 4G lbs. level and made lighter with aluminum parts and lack of sound deadeding equipment. With the amp'd up engine, she'll move! And well!

Yes it will Rumble, no doubt! :toothy10:
