Ran your 1.54 60ft thru wallaces "ideal" calculator. It says 11 ohs, with a 6.99 1/8, and almost 98 mph. I would definatily get the converter tightened up!
5400 may or may not be too much stall. I shift at 7350 and flash to 6200, which is 800 rpm over torque peak. It takes a lot of HORSEPOWER down low to Carry a tight converter, thats what the nitrous boys do. The rest of us shoot for max average hp from shift recovery rpm to shift point rpm, and the first half of the rpm is very important since the car spends more time in the first half of each gear. I will take 90 percent (loose converter)of average hp, say 500, over 95 percent of 450 average hp because my converter is too tight to get to the higher average.Thanks. My heads dont flow big numbers at all(272 max) but low numbers are very solid. I have 1 5/8 Dougs headers.
I am hoping for 10.70’s in good air.
Just talked to the convertor guy. Gonna send it out a week from Monday. Want it closer than it is now.
My guess is it would have flashed 5400ish behind the new motor. That's way to much when i am gonna likely shift it at 6300-6400
