Am I reading this wrong or did I stumble across a Demon with the 145hp 225ci? Everything appears original although it's been (crappily) repainted black but the engine compartment is red and it obviously had a vinyl roof and many of the options listed on the tag are evident. Are these tags known to be off a little?

... and the tail lights would be a series of vertical slots in the tail panel - not the squared off plastic lensese.

how about pictures of that $500 74 demon!! still $500?? wow!! Lawrence

Well Darn! Thought I'd found something. I get confused by some of the postings and pictures I see. Those top two Abodyjoe posted, to me, have always been "Dusters" (Hope I'm not insulting anybody!). My grandfather had one back in the 70's/80'a. Mine is like the 3rd picture. Do they have certain "nicknames" to keep 'em apart?

Here's my original introduction post http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=286331 I don't have any photos saved here at work. The guy was asking $1400 on Craigslist. I walked away with it for $500 and drove it home, a 45 minute drive, with a severe pucker factor involved. I thought it was going come apart or break down on me before I could get home. After I got her in the garage, put the front lug nuts on correctly and torqued them, capped off the open vacuum ports on the carb, wrapped up the hole in the exhaust pipe with muffler tape and added 3 quarts of tranny fluid, she ran like a top! Just gotta get all the lights working and she'll ready for her job as my daily work car. Thanks for setting me straight guys!

a duster is a plymouth. built from 1970 to 1975 or 76..

a demon(1971 and 1972) or dart sport(1973-1975 0r 76) isa dodge .

different tail light treatment and front clips.

what you have is just a run of the mill 74 dart. not that theres anything wrong with that..

Thanks for the clarification Abodyjoe! I get it now. I could always throw in the word "Swinger" and everybody pretty much knows what body style, right? I always look forward to seeing your posts just so I can see your avatar :)

Or just use the word "dart". Most will think of what you have. Most say demon or dart sport when referring to those cars?

Thanks joe! How about this line?
E24: 225 cid 1 barrel 6 Cylinder 145hp
Can I count on that? She feels pretty peppy. I'll check the engine VIN to be sure.

Seems to me a bunch of "anti" persons where against the name "demon" an chrysler had to change it to Dart Sport

people were a lil sensitive to devil stuff by the time '72 rolled around.

On January 25, 1971, guilty verdicts were returned against the four defendants on each of the 27 separate counts against them. Not far into the trial's penalty phase, the jurors saw, at last, the defense that Manson—in the prosecution's view—had planned to present. Atkins, Krenwinkel, and Van Houten testified the murders had been conceived as "copycat" versions of the Hinman murder, for which Atkins now took credit. The killings, they said, were intended to draw suspicion away from Bobby Beausoleil, by resembling the crime for which he had been jailed. This plan had supposedly been the work of, and carried out under the guidance of, not Manson, but someone allegedly in love with Beausoleil—Linda Kasabian. Among the narrative's weak points was the inability of Atkins to explain why, as she was maintaining, she had written "political piggy" at the Hinman house in the first place.

Midway through the penalty phase, Manson shaved his head and trimmed his beard to a fork; he told the press, "I am the Devil, and the Devil always has a bald head." In what the prosecution regarded as belated recognition on their part that imitation of Manson only proved his domination, the female defendants refrained from shaving their heads until the jurors retired to weigh the state's request for the death penalty.

The effort to exonerate Manson via the "copycat" scenario failed. On March 29, 1971, the jury returned verdicts of death against all four defendants on all counts. On April 19, 1971, Judge Older sentenced the four to death.

I worked with a guy that was on that jury in LA! Said it made his hair white...spooky ****.
