On the heads you just got? Why do they do that?Mine were 2015..
I got mine last year in September. I think I've seen up to 2017 last year on the Black Friday sale but 2020 by far is the newest I've seen. mind being 2015 when I took them in to have them check the only thing they really needed was some lubrication in the valve guides because they had kind of dried up from sitting on the shelf so long...On the heads you just got? Why do they do that?
2017Ok. Well See what other guys dates are. @MOPAROFFICIAL
OK "free lubricate the valve guides" I have not heard that before.it really depends on what you're putting them on and what your expectations are. I bought complete heads and ran them basically out of the box. I paid $95 to have them looked at and they were pretty close to the specs I had already on my well done Factory heads. The only thing they had to do is just free lubricate the valve guides... So far they've ran flawless on my Stroker with a dual quad tunnel ram..
Well you got one of my voice command blurbs where I didn't go back and read it properly. But what I meant was re lubricate not free lubricate...OK "free lubricate the valve guides" I have not heard that before.
Please enlighten me
I hate that when it happens!Well you got one of my voice command blurbs where I didn't go back and read it properly. But what I meant was re lubricate not free lubricate...
While they were in the machine shop having all the machine services checked for trueness, pressure check the valves, check spring heights and spring rates, The Machinist said while they were disassembled after five years on the shelf the lubricant on the shaft of the valve inside the valve guide had dried up a little bit and he re lubricated them... he said since he had them apart it was no big deal and the charge for everything was $95 what I felt was extremely reasonable..
Now if your true intention was to really catch me not knowing what I was talking about, good try...
Hot off the press lol...Fed Ex just dropped two boxes...
heads have a date of 5/4/2020
My Ford heads were supposed to be here today according to FedEx...Fed Ex just dropped two boxes...

Still trying to order some heads and other bits-Parts total= $645 Shipping = $601. I called them and asked if they could use my UPS acct and basically was told that they use Fedex so too bad. I cancelled--I cannot pay almost what the parts were in shipping alone and its just a couple of aluminum heads/rockers and a stud kit. Ridiculous. J.Rob
This is ridiculous. A border shouldn’t make that kind of shipping difference when the border isn’t 1000 miles away. Should be some kind of reciprocity between the US and Canada. It would be better for both.
How much of that is taxes?
At least you had some acknowledgement the parts shipped, all I got was an e-mail giving me the invoice number. My Ford heads were supposed to be here today according to FedEx...
But when the truck came and went and drop something off for the neighbor a couple hours ago I knew it was a bust...
Now it just updated and said delivery date pending LOL...
Oh yeah... Lots of people have been waiting for this sale.. I'm sure it's going to take a couple weeks to get caught up... Or more...At least you had some acknowledgement the parts shipped, all I got was an e-mail giving me the invoice number.
No tracking for shipping yet.
I know they must be overwhelmed getting orders out, good thing is I don't need them for a year or so.
