Before I posted in this thread I had never even noticed DTM and I thought some of you were just picking on him but the more I read the more I see there is more to this than I thought and assumed.

Granted, we all post what we want and don't what we don't want..... but there's also participation in a forum and sometimes if you don't want to share then you have no right to stir the pot.

Mine is an oversized 2 car garage. I don't really have that fancy of a set up but I have a heater and it's equipped enough to get some stuff done.

Yeah, I guess you get some stuff done. Like Wow...

4 speed conversion on one of your darts, transmission tunnel open to the outside world.

As you are giving one of the lawyer group workers a ride to work, she is looking at the ground go by with a puzzled look on her face.

That's "Rainy Day Auto" legendary operator.

You have a nice space and more importantly, the know how to use it.

Well, I want to thank not only you but others as well for wrecking my thread. You guys could screw up a one car junk yard. I don't think that Hollywood could afford my talent, knowledge.

Dan, why are you here?

Seriously, I want you to consider that.

You say we're "wrecking your thread", but you just started this to try and guilt us for not being nice to you. Except, we have been. The members here have been EXCEPTIONALLY nice to you. You've started thread after thread, and still people are posting links to cars you say you're looking for- still trying to help you!

Members here have started being rude to you because of YOUR actions. Every time someone posts a link to a car for you, you badmouth it. You pick it apart. You make excuses. Those kinds of actions have consequences, people took time out of their day to look up those cars, probably even posted cars that they themselves would be interested in. And then you crap on them. That's even more true when other members here post their OWN cars for you, which has happened at least a few times now that I'm aware of. And then your responses, making claims that those cars are full of rust, that they aren't worth what those members are asking, suggesting that longstanding members in good regard (some in the BEST regard possible around here) are somehow misrepresenting their cars? C'mon man.

Everyone here has gotten tired of this, and of you. No one started off by attacking you. They started out by trying to help you. Your attitude, your posts, your constant whining about how you can't find a car, your repackaging other peoples expertise in threads you have no business in because you haven't turned a wrench on a Mopar in decades (if ever), THAT'S why people are acting the way they are.

I mean, the fact that this is the first thread you throw up after getting your privileges back says a lot about you.

Seriously, consider why it is you're here on FABO. Because you're not going to force people on the internet to be nice to you. Your actions have consequences, and you are reaping what you have sowed here. People get tired of you crapping on them when they do try to help, and you end up with the reputation that you have.

Maybe it's just time to hang it up for awhile Dan.

Bravo sir. I give you a standing ovation.

Was he banned temporarily or something??

Or something?

I'm not exactly sure. He contacted me and blamed me for his not being able to post because of a comment I made on a thread of his that was deleted. But I don't know specifically what his restrictions were.

Seems to me that he has a problem accepting that his actions have consequences, and that not everything that happens to him is someone else's fault.

Looks like you have enough ceiling height for a lift too!!

And that's why I recommended a name change. If you're looking to fix this, I wouldn't even bother. Do the ol' Doug Henning switcheroo...and give yourself another chance at changing the impression that you created.

So good I thought I'd quote it. I've missed a couple of cars over the years because I wasn't ready and set. It taught me to strike quickly when I find something I want, and not regret anything afterwards. It has paid off in Mopars I love and peace of mind.
Just my thoughts in general, and I care less about having a kick dog, whether it deserves it or not. My opinion is the classic car market has been soft for a few years. Inflation has bit some of us in the butt. High end cars sell because $ guys always have plenty of disposable income. Lower end cars are harder to sell. Bottom line, if any desirable car (model) comes up for sale, be it a project or a done car, IF it is priced right, it sells pretty darn quick. If it is some model few people want, hard to give it away! So like said, having the cash available or line of credit is extremely important. A good car at a GOOD (not retail) price, will sell in hours or a very few days. Unless you live in Antartica maybe!

There is a bone for everybody in out hobby. Personally I love the hunt, the build, the drive but I hate to deal ever with selling, even though they all have sell to pay for the next one (addiction!?). OK so I am down to two right now. I figured out long ago, I had no use for a high end perfect car. I want to dive my car and never worry about it. When it is time to sell said high end perfect car, IF I drove it is will never be as perfect as it was day ONE out of the paint booth (OK I never had a booth!). Nor any body guy that did flawless work for me. I hate washing and cleaning and detailing a car. I hate having a car I love and not driving it. I hate offering one of my "babies" for sale, and some asshole comes to look and tries to pick it apart, especially if there is nothing to pick. (Anal or just an asshole trying to beat me down.)

Mom always said, boy,,,"know when to hold em, know when to fold em, know when to shut the f*** up, and KNOW when to tell the guy to NOT let the gate bump him in the *** on his way out!" Mom was direct.

Dan could very well be a 14 year old 'Wanna be". We don't know. If so Dan, you better get a job flipping burgers at Micky D's and save up $30,000 for a car. They will be $45-50,000 by the time you get that much saved up.

Bottom line.

BUY A CAR and start asking questions about it vs hypothetical scenarios.

Done deal.

…….I’m going to the garden to eat worms……
Some of them meal and grub worms are purdy good. Them gold ones.

Or more and that's a sad fact.

Selling or buying? I might be on the selling side of that coin soon. All good to make a few bucks and get to enjoy your car for free for 10+ years.
When you said they'd be 40-45 by the time he saves the money. I was saying or possibly more. They ain't comin down, that's for sure.

Dan the man doesn't need to change his name. He just needs to buy a car and all this goes away. I bet he'd find this place happy and glad to help with his engine questions. I would say, his place in this hobby is just making himself believe he is going to buy something. That's enough for him. Even if he knows it's not happening. Therefore, he posts here to make himself believe the theme of "I'm going to buy something". This is how he will enjoy the hobby and feel like he is a participant.
