So I'm working on a non mopar. A ranger danger with a v6 (4.0 to be exact)

The truck needs a new exhaust system because the original one was destroyed. There's no catalytic converter.

I called all the big box parts stores and every one of them told me how loud their muffler is as if its a selling point to make you want to make your v6 sound like it's farting.

Don't they make OE spec mufflers anymore that are quiet. Me nor the customer wants to listen to this v6. The air conditioning should be louder than the fart mill. Apparently my customer and I are in the minority of trying to make a vehicle quiet **whispers**

Same thing happened to me a few years ago when I put new mufflers on a ford 460. I paid extra for the Flowmaster delta 70 because the guy said they are quiet. I installed them and I can't even hear my passenger on the highway.

WTH!!!

Plenty of people sell stock replacement mufflers. What year is this POS?

Are walkers quiet?? The oreileys here told me "anything walker brand is performance and will have a very throaty sound that will wake the neighbors"
He’s an idiot. Most of walkers stuff is direct OEM replacement.

Yep, I tried to go to advance auto to get longer lug studs for the dart, no go. Dumbass chick behind the counter kept giving me the same ones over and over. Could not get thru to her that I needed longer ones.

I went through this exact thing with Auto Zone for longer studs to go on my rear disc conversion.
They are a Dorman part number and they told me they could only find 9 by checking with all the other stores in the county.
I said “Then order a box of 10 from Dorman”
He said he didn’t know if they could do that.
At that point I was at a loss for anything non smartass to say.:D
Manager ordered them for me and they were there the next morning.

there are times i want to support my local economy, and there are times my local economy insists on hiring brainfarts who remind me why i like shopping online

I will say this, Napa here in town is ran by 4 older guys that actually know their stuff. So if it’s anything unusual, i typically go there. But they’re only open 4 days a week and hours are weird. So if it’s something I need right away, I’m forced to the other chains
