I'm almost ready to have some porting done on my eddy heads, and I'm leaning towards shady dell to do the work. Any opinions on this shop or others that you may be familiar with?

The shop has a great rep and Ryan should speak with you before the work is done so you. This way your both on the same page for the work to be done.

Brian @ MMI or was that MII does porting as well. You can do a search on his screen name, OU812.

its IMM...Indio Motor Machine i think?

Shady Dell, Modern Cylinder Head, Porter Racing Heads are all eastern US and good shops. Ryan is prob the shortest shipping tho.

Jeff at Modern Cylinder Heads said he might have his yearly special on cnc heads....said it would most likely happen in January...

Shipping costs are not a reason to use someone for porting IMO.

We usually step up the intake valve size in order to get as much from the port as possible.
For a stock replacement head, the eddy is a darn good power maker once ported.

With those I mentioned and yourself, I would consider shipping the only seperating factor. Meaning I've used two of the 3 and the results were excellant in both cases. I'm assuming you and Dwayne could do just as well :). I'm in CT, OP is in WV. Shipping 3 times the distance doesnt make sense with the talent that is available "locally". It would make more sense to simply buy heads ready to run from one of those vendors. That's what I tend to do if I need porting on a level I cant do.
