Just installed the full body width (they offer a trunk lid width also) wing on the back of our 69 dart. Awesome kit. Awesome quality. Precision fit pieces and holes. Very easy to install. Elected to attach the struts to the bottom of the deck lid instead of the bumper. Very solid. Full body with wing has a dzus fastener on each side to the quarter panel. Did not use them as it lays flush and snug. If it flops around at speed I'll use them. They are built one at a time and Paul can add, delete holes or do what ever you want. Talked with me for 45 minutes at 5pm. Good guy. Very happy. Around 700 with shipping (oversize). Glad to answer any questions.

I also have an Ed Quay Wing on just the trunk of my '72 Dart. I agree, the quality and fit was perfect, and they worked with me to cut down the wing a couple inches to have it extend just out to the depth of my bumper. Great service and people from Ed Quay Company.

That looks great. I looked at his stuff for my Charger build, but decided to just make it myself due to the design I need. What is the material thickness? Thanks in advance.

At what mph does the wing make a difference?
Nice looking Dart
Not to steal this thread, but that is a spoiler, not a wing and it plays mostly into stability. Would need a wicker bill to add downforce. This will move the CP back some.

TAhead69 ,

Beautiful car and beautiful workmanship on the wing .
But I’m wondering,,,,won’t the load from the downforce damage the edge of the deck lid ?
I’m thinking that is why he had designed the struts to mount to the bumper ?

By the way,,,,,I really like your banner tacked to the ceiling of the shop too !

Tommy. Yes and yes. First. If we go mid 11s in street trim thru the mufflers I'll be happy. 340, 4spd, torqstorm supercharger. Second. As gssdemon pointed out there's very little wicker bill at the back of the spoiler so the down force won't be that much. Third. The struts have quick pins that go thru the strut rod and tube that let's you quickly pull the clips and lift the trunk lid. But, then you have to line up at the same time 4 rods into tubes to close the trunk. Their a tight fit. I'm a simpleton. Here's my street secret weapon. Hand hydraulic pump behind the seat, hydraulic gauge on the center console, 10 ton hydraulic ram mounted on the pinion snubbed perch. Pump the handle, watch the gauge. I can see when the snubber on the ram hits the floor and preload the rear end. Hooks like a 4 link.

Yes the alternator is mounted to the frame rail. The alternator bracket doubles as an engine torque limiter too. Torque tube on the other side on the supercharger spring loaded support bracket. Have never had a problem with the alternator belt. Not a fan of flopping, dangling alternators throwing belts.

I had an Ed Quay wing on my car when I bought it but it never saw 130 but, i always got compliments. Took it off for repaint and it's been 160+ and have been thinking I might put something on it because it might help at 175ish. IDK seemed OK at 160 though. I'd think for it to be effective, it'd need an adjustable height wicker.

This past weekend had the opportunity to let it roll. New dedicated half mile get off ramp, last half over a bridge. Redlined at 6600, 4th gear, a833, 3:55, 29.5 tire. Straight as an arrow, smooth. No vibration. Sits like your valiant. Very pleased.

So far, so good. Put around 120 miles on the car this weekend. Used aluminum rivets across the top of the wing instead of the supplied nuts and bolts. Used rivets on the top holes of the strut lower brackets. Reason being is the inner trunk panel makes access very difficult in some spots. I'm sure as I drive the car alot, some rivets will work loose. I'll worry about drilling 9/16" holes in the subpanel for socket access then.

Want to share another mod i made for the racing, street non purist folks. Choke cable controlled hinged front license plate air intake. Cut out the front bumper, leave the bottom 3/4 inch on the bottom, behind the license plate. Stainless piano hinge (12 lowes), choke cable assembly with brackets and hardware (17 oriellys). Adds tons of air flow to the radiator and would benefit intercooler. Pull the cable, plate closes. Push the cable, plate opens. Almost half of the radiator is blocked by the bumper. Cable is routed thru the firewall insulation board retaing plastic pin hole. Also. You can run an electric water pump with out the water pump cover, pump on the street. Using a thermostat with the valve cut out as a restrictor. Even in florida traffic i rarely see 210 otherwise 180 all the time. I also use the jegs racing antifreeze. FYI.

I really like the license plate trick.
A little bit like the air grabber hood, a little bit like James Bond.

Glad you like it! We have a car show literally down the street once a month and the kids line up taking turns pushing and pulling the cable while the other kids watch. One kid was making puke sounds while working the knob. It was hysterical!
