I just purchased a used Eddy 1407 that was previously on a 440. I've got a 20 over 10.5 to 1 68 340 with Eddy heads and I'm ready to install a Eddy Air Gap . I'm going to clean up the Carb but was wondering a ballpark baseline on what primary jets and metering rods and secondary jets I should start out with. I would think the stock jetting may be too much to start out with . Anyone running a similar set up that could give me some info ? I haven't had much experience with them other than changing metering rods and springs on my 650. Looks simple enough . I have the PFD on them.
Thanks

Download the manual, should tell you what jets came in it. Most people don't mess with the jets on the edelbrocks because they work decent out of the box on most engines. You can play with the metering rod springs for the enrichment circuit from the exterior but jet change requires the carb top to come off. I think the manual shows the jet table in it, if not its in the paperwork that comes with the calibration kit.

Not enough information.
Cam specs
Type of exhaust and pipe size

Stock 68 /4spd cam, Factory Manifolds,2 1/2" Exhaust ,X-pipe, Walker Quiet Flow mufflers, I forget tire size :BangHead:14" rims front 15" rear, 323 rear gear.

Thanks Kim, I will give it a cleaning and just go and start or be finished from there .

Cleaned and installed this Saturday. Car's never ran so good. Idle screws are only out a 1/4 turn instead of 1 1/2 to 2 turns. Would metering rod or spring change help on this or changing tranfer slot setting? Or should I leave well enough alone ?

Rods, springs nor jets will affect the idle mixture screw.
Edelbrocks don’t have adjustable air bleeds like Holley, so 1/4 it is.:D
