hi all

i am redoing my 67 cuda coupe. car was originally a bench seat column shift 3 speed standard. i am going to put a 408 4 speed setup in it. still toying with installing the bench seat, but am concidering installing stock type buckets and bucket seat tracks.

i am in the process of replacing the entire floorpan. the used one i am installing is out of a rust free 74 dart 4 door police auction special. as such this replacement floor was from a bench seat car. i was thinking of welding in the reinforcements for the bucket seats, and not knocking out the stud holes for the buckets unless i decide to put em in.

i got a pretty good idea where the inboard seat tracks need to go as the metal is dimpled and creased for reinforcement front and back for each seat, however can somebody get me some accurate measurements from hole center to center.

i would need measurements from
front to back inboard holes.
side to side inboard to outboard holes
cross angle inboard rear to outboard front and inboard front to outboard rear.

your help is greatly appreciated
thanks
matt

You will have a slight problem . The 74 floor pan was changed to accommodate a cat' converter. So the passengers side seat tracks were changed too. 67 bucket tracks may bolt in the same holes ( don't know ) but the height and level would be wrong.

all 4 holes should be dimpled in the floor. as mentioned though not sure if they will sit right or not.

the floor pan is not raised any more than the 67 pan. my 74 parts car did not come with a converter. that didnt start happening on autos until 1976 i believe. the seat box height and angle on the 74 pan was the same as the 67. i know i took lots of measurements, and used pieces of the old floor for templates to move seatbelt nutplate holes park brake cable lead, cable clamp for speedometer cable, reverse light wiring etc.

if you look at the full floorpans offered from AMD, the one i sectioned at the back and installed in my cuda was the longer wheelbase pan. look at em both theres only minor differences between em both. they are virtually identical except at the back, as well as a few stiffener ribs being moved, or removed depending on the pan you use. even the drain holes are in the right spots. i did an awful lot of measuring before i installed this floor pan. the minor differences in stiffener ribs placement doesnt matter to me as this car is not getting a killer resto, and will be a nice driver weekend car when its done.

i did it this way as i wasnt interested in spending $550 part and shipping for a floor pan when mine off my parts car had minor surface rust and was very useable.

Mr Abodyjoe looking at your pic i guess the stock bench seat outboard mounts are plugged with a rubber plug, and the dimples off those outboard seat brackets that i assumed were alignment holes are actually for the outboard bucket seat tracks.

well that gets me closer and the pic you sent is worth 1,000 words. can you give me some dimensions in inches so i can go from there.

i can make the inboard reinforcement square plates myself, but can you give me a dimension L x W on these along with a thickness. i have some 1/16" plate that would probably do for this.

look at the pix in my photo gallery to see what i am talking about

thanks
matt
