MY 2014 RAM IS IN THE BODY SHOP DUE TO A MIRROR SLAPPER ACCIDENT. I AM HAVING THEM CHANGE THE OIL, "NEW TO ME TRUCK". THE FIRST TIME I`VE EVER PAID ANYONE TO DO IT. 71 YRS OLD.

Yeah man, If your good at doing it yourself why pay her? but at 71 you deserve to treat yourself.

Sounds like a nice ........truck.
hope your slapper doesn't leave a mark.
No disrespect sir.....it was such a gift.

Maybe check her plug when she comes home.

I’m about to have a shop change the trans fluid in my pick up. First time I have ever had someone else do that job for me.

I wish I could afford to have someone do it for me. School takes any extra time or money.

it should look new again. GOOD IDEA ON THE DRAIN PLUG CHECK !

It can be cheaper. Ive crunched the numbers and have come up with the shop in the lead, but when i look at the quality of the filter I'm assuming They use the cheapest oil. Is there a difference? If you are changing on time does it matter if its Wix or Fram?

Dunno, i usually am glad it's changed, seems like it may not make a difference as its the PPM (parts per million) that make oil not perform, so if changed on time........ Now over tightening the drain plug (or not enough) ....oooooo that gets me steamed.

Not worried about a dodge dealer using inferior filter or oil. I did find a stripped drain plug on a Silverado I gave my daughter once. She had the oil changed at a jiffy lube in Owasso, Okla. I wouldn`t thrust them w/ anything) . I found it when she gave it back to me. I retheaded it out to 3/8" pipe thread and used a pipe plug n it. I will put the cat on somebodies back for shoddy workmanship !!

Yeah the dealership probably won't do you wrong.....jiffy boys might have a few scratches up their backs though.

I had a friend who ran a XMSN shop do my filter/fluid in my 95 Ram Diesel.

I have a 7 quart pan and it's messy as hell to do!

I was always told it was cheaper to have a shop change your oil. I could be mistaken though.
You are. Let me say this about that. If you do find some place that will change your oil for less than you can buy oil and a filter, I'd be shocked. Plus, a lot of those oil change places will drive you nuts trying to convince you that the air filter, serpentine belt, wiper blades, etc, need to be replaced. I specially disagree if you are talking about Name Brand Synthetic oil. I can do an oil change with Mobil One for about $35. That would be $75-$100 at an oil change place. Plus, how do you really know you get Mobil One oil?

Never paid to have my oil change so I had no clue, just going off what others have told me. Plus I doubt anyone besides ford will have mororcraft oil and filters for my truck and I will be 6 deer under before someone else changes the oil in my dart.
