Just my opinion but if you really wanted to sell something and arent hiding anything you would post pics in the ad. The biggest turn off for me when I look at an ad is to have to go to photobucket or email for pics. Slower computers take forever to switch between sites so I never look at anything that the picture is on photobucket. Also if i,m interested in something I want to see it now. Not when you decide to email me some pics. Bythen I have probably found one for sale somewhere with a picture and bought it. This is just how I feel about it. Any one else feel the same? I bet sellers miss a lot of buyers due to this. I have bought dozens of things here but nothing without a picture.jmho

I agree 100%

another problem I have (not here) is when someone puts a FOR SALE sign on something with a phone # but NO price? what are they thinking? money is no object? FAIL! if you dont put a price you dont want to sell it

I totally agree when a 4-sale has no pictures, I want to see it now, links are ok but usually if you go to photobucket you have to sort thru their pics....:thumbdow:

I agree also no phone numbers just pictures and a price with a good accurate description.

I understand not everybody owns a camera, but aleast add a link with a pic of said part.I also think that if a for sale ad for a car/truck or parts doesn,t have pics, should automatically be deleted. But thats just me.

i agree! i dont look twice at a FS ad with no pics or no prices. description means squat thanks to inaccurate here say

Same here Pete, Pictures and where the heck the part is...
I show pictures after a sale to show the buyer how I am packing it up and when it leaves
Fallow up pictures, and not just pictures of one side flip it over and show us the ugly to please..

I totally agree 100% with daredevil on pics in the for sale ads. I even hate it when the pics they have isn't worth horse poop. There either blurred real bad or close up that you can't make out what the heck they're selling.

It's called "the hook". Good pictures, good description (not to long), accurate location and realistic price. That's what sells stuff. When ya gotto go looking for info, if you're like me, I don't waste my time.

zackly, not wasting my time either.

I agree. I have a blazing fast computer at home, but right now I am up in the north woods using my Droid as a wireless hotspot. Not exactly fast. If I have to look elsewhere for pics, I'm not buying.

When I see no pictures, I move right on along without a second thought.

I figure, it must be a P.O.S.

Really? do you need to look at a picture of a strut rod? Let me give you the other side of this story. Do you know how many pictures I have taken of parts only to not have a person get back to me? I have told members that I'll mail it to them and if they like it pay me if not send it back. I've bought parts that look great in a single dimensional picture only to be less that satisfied when I get it. I agree some items need to have pictures posted. But if you need to have a picture of a LCA bushing pin or an upper shock mount pin from me than keep looking. For those here that know me, a picture is not needed! There, I feel better now.

picasa is very EZ to use. If you are a seller and have no camera, Email me and Ill send you one, I got like 9...oops, scratch that. When they are $19 at Rite-aid, you can buy one yourself. 3 steps to posting a pic:
1. Take pic. Make the item fill the screen, not a carb from 12 feet away.
2. use picasa (free from google) to upload pic from camera (just plug camera in and it usually starts automatically.
3. Upload pic from picasa to free picasa web album (upload button), click on uploaded image in web album (view online tab after it completes), click the "Link to this Photo", check "image only" box and click "embed image". Itll highlight, copy that highlighted string (right click and COPY) and use that as your link in your ad. Put it in between these 2 HTML tags:
.

Its easier than it sounds, was that really 3 steps? Makes selling much smoother.

It should have went without saying some parts dont need a pic because unless they are bent or rusted they are as advertized. Its things that cosmetic appearance matters. And no even though I know you if you had a valve cover or body part I would need a pic.

In that case I agree, mainly because you want to make sure that when a buyer says he has 69 340 valve covers that they are in fact 69 340 and not 318.

Ok well ive seen u guys bitching bout slow puters well look at it this way when i have to load a pic i have to start loading one then walk away and come back later as it will make the computer so slow cant use it .. so u have to look at the other side .Let me put it this way .
