anyone know what float i'd need for a 68 dart? i know i saw a mustang one that was supposed to fit our mopars but can't remember the application.

Ford used an identical float through the 70's. There is also a plastic float available if you prefer that.

I bought a plastic one from o riley. Worked fine. I think it is 1 inch of or there abouts
