Good Deal On A Nice Timing Light

I held off on this till I got mine in hand and I got it today. Brand new, but the plastic package is yellowed. This is a digital timing light made by Actron. They also make all of the Bosch tools such as scan tools and other equipment under the Bosch brand.Took it out, hooked it up and it works good. This is about half price for these.

Well, first chance you get to try it.... if the reading jumps around all over the dang place on a multispark box, you'll know. That's why I'm looking for a light. A great deal anyways.....

It'll probably be a while fore I work on anything with MSD. lol

MSD has a light that works with their systems. Probably a good idea to get one of those. The Actron lights are good stuff but may not work on MSD. The description doesn't say it works with MSD.

I have the instruction book that came with it. I'll flip through it and see if it makes reference.

I have a different Actron and at least once once compared it with the MSD's timing light on my '67 with the MSD 6T ignition. No obvious issues.

It does not make reference in the instruction book, but a quick internet search finds it is not compatible with MSD. Fine with me. I still wouldn't mind trying it because we all know everything on the internet is true. <rolls eyes>

That looks like mine, which does work with MSD.

The funny thing is....when you get one that works with MSD, I suspect you are essentially buying a 'retarded' version of a timing light, one with a slower response rate. By slowing down the rate of sampling, it can't detect the multiple sparks and only sees the 'big picture' of the 4 events per revolution. It's like buying a slower computer so you can enjoy your **** for longer.

Mine is the CP7529. All digital. It reads the same as my old Craftsman dial back light I had it set with. Which is a good thing. It's a lot more stable at idle, though, where the Craftsman was jumping around.

Junk...had one and it let the smoke out in between n20 runs. Not a happy purchase. MSD sells good timing lights.

My cheap dial back Harbor Freight timing light works fine with my MSD.

I totally understand. No soft drinks, cable tv or eating out for our family to play in the mopar hobby.

Hopefully it outtlasts all of us lol.
