Got a call today!!

-
I have been working out on the drum's for three days know and the first day I did 3 one hour sets, then the next morning I started doing paradiddles to worm up, Then I played with there music for about 45 min and had to stop.
I figured it was just old mussels I have not used in a long time.
So I took me a brake and turned on there music in my truck and set the water sprinklers out on our plants and relaxed for awhile.:clock:
At noon yesterday I got back behind them and I had me a prescribed pill and
gave it all I had and did not last 30 minutes.:tongue9:
My elbow's was all bumped up will inflammation that I have never seen before
and my nee's was on fire along with my neck.
Monday my Doctor said to give it a try and see how it go's.
Well Treva and I both said that this will be to much for my bones.
The band got the bad news this morning and was very nice about the hole thing and under stood.
I will be hanging with the band Sticks and Strings and running the sound board for them and enjoying our new friends.
And may help with some back up singing when they need me too.
All is good, But I just had to give it a try.:disgust:
I have had many hour behind the drums and lived a great young life with
many great bands, No one can take my memories away.:love7:
Thanks for all your support on this venture.

Sorry to hear that Mike. I am up against a simular dicision with hockey...my body just does not take the beating it used to!

Hey Mike....congrats
This is your year....I am so happy for you and Treva

What I would do is drive Miss Vickey the 60 miles each month and
treat it like a road trip!

I couldn't think of a better way of getting there.

Tony

You get all the right swelling in all the wrong places. So true!
You sound like a good radio talk show host Sid!!

Yep Ramcharger! it was best for me and the band, But I have made some new friends to get out of the house with.
and do like Tony said Joe.

O my god you are a hockey player at on time
I like watching but have never put on a pair of ice skates on.
That has to be brutal on the body!!

Hi Mike, Don't know how I missed this post, but I found it. So glad you were able to go out and give it a shot! Sorry to hear about the old bones reaction to the sudden wake up call. Maybe it was just too much and you'll have to work up to it. Running the sound board can be fun though. I did it for bands for many years. Had a great time and sometimes got up with the bands and did a song or two. Maybe you'll get the opportunity to do the same. I understand what a shock it can be to the body to return to such a strenuous work out. If I don't get someone to carry my amp my hands swell up and I can't play. Sucks getting old my friend. Keep practicing keep it short and build it up and see what happens. Rock on Mike!
Peace, Tony
