Where could I locate the heater switch. I was surprised to find the heater is wired to a toggle switch which is getting it's power from the sending unit for the tachometer. Not sure why it didn't go to the fuse box. I have checked a few places but haven't found one listed

A 65 heater control switch gets it's power from, I believe, the middle fuse on the 65 fuse block. If it's been rigged you might need the heater harness?

The one in the dashboard that was factory. I believe it is a three speed unit. Someone has drilled a hole in the dashboard and placed a toggle switch that turns on and off.

The factory switch next to the slide controls in the 65 was OFF, LOW SPEED and HIGH SPEED. So as I understand it, you might still have the factory switch that may or may not work. The blower motor is actually turned on by the added toggle switch?

I can't check mine till off work again Thursday, but I can't imagine why someone would bypass it and run a single toggle switch unless it is because of a wiring issue. I have everything apart, but I left the wires connected to the fan.

May not be a problem in the OEM wiring. A bad switch and not knowing how to R&R it is more likely. I had a rally bezel here with similar extra hole drilled through beside the OEM blower switch. The rally panel might be more difficult to R&R but that still doesn't justify in my opinion. Some owners will do whatever they need to do. Must have been mighty cold outside.
