Hey guys I'm considering Hedman's tight tube shorty headers on my 75 Duster 360 4spd.
Just picked this car up recently and knew it was needing work , lower tubes have basically been flattened out real good . Car has power steering and I'm wondering about the collector being an issue. I know these won't give me the same results as long tube but the car is just a cruiser .

The butt dyno will never know the difference.

I know a person using these in a daily driver 71 road runner. I saw his car in a shop to replace the cracked headers. They were cracked in a bunch of places. But a lot of miles on them. And between 10 to 7 years old.

When they replaced them the old headpipes would not bolt up. The header outlet flanges were not made in the same position. So they had to tow it to a muffler shop to make new headpipes.

Furious65 , thanks for the link . Great info , I did a couple searches but this didn't show up.
All things considered I will probably go with Hedman's shorties .

I plan on using them myself on my '68 Barracuda with 318. It isn't a max HP car. Just built for cruising and doing some auto-x.

So were the new positions an improvement for running the exhaust pipes????

Has anybody tried these on a magnum block??? Do the truck mounts need to be ground down???

No. Just the flange was clocked/twist about 1/2" different. Angle was different. IMHO, it shows poor quality control. He was replacing cracked headers. And I could see where previous cracks were repaired on them. but like I said, its probably got 40-50K miles and 7+ years on them.

For the cost of remaking the headpipes he could of bought other set of these headman headers. It's a very tight fit even in the 71 B-body.
