I believe the only slant A727 came in the pickups and vans. Pass cars had the A904.

People use the A727 in high HP builds all the time. I am a 4 speed guy, maybe somebody else can chime in as to how much HP they can handle.

Mopar made an O/D version of the A727, and A904 that could give you power and an overdrive gear.

Can someone confirm by looking at pics of initial car I posted that it is normal to have a fiberglass looking substance sheeting the inside of the quarter panels? The craigslist ad has a trunk shot that shows this. I guess this keeps the qtr from wrinkling.

...am in process of negotiations right now. checking out the floorpan and going from there.

Thst is asphalt based sound deadener. Without it sprayed on the insides of the doors and quarters you wouldnt have a solid thunk when closing the doors, and it would sound like a tin can driving it.

thanks and speaking of motor mounts, a guy told me today a 400 had to be externally balanced vs a 383. I guess not on the RB blocks due to more rod weight and length?

That true? (note, I'm trying to get up to speed on mopar blocks).

Not sure about that about A 400 being externally balanced. It can be made to be internally balanced though. The crank gets drilled at key locations when doing a crank balance. Then those holes are filled with a heavier mallory metal.

If i dont go 410 stroked 360. I will get my 360 crank rebalanced internally.

The only way i have ever heard of quarters wanting to wrinkle is on acid dipped bodies on factory prepped high powered drag cars. I believe the sox and martin Hemi duster was so thin, they glued styrofoam to the insides of the quarter skins to prevent this. Unibody construction is pretty strong, however when adding a high powered small or big block you need to stiffen it up in key locations. Multiple ways to do subframe connectors, torque boxes, lower rad supports etc. If interested in how i did mine, and how to set up the body shell to keep it square during this process , let me know. Glad to help

My opinion is buy a different body. This car is to far gone for a high horse power LS. One of those motors in this car would twist it in half. That rusty trunk floor is a real mess and would cause serious body flex and and your amp would get wet in the rain.

You may not be able to find a Nova. But those Fox body mustangs are all over the place and all the parts are out there for your wishes. So if you are serious about going fast Chose a Fox body or a second/third gen camaro.

Mopars are way out of your league and they don't look that good with neon lights under the hood and wheel wells. And a question you didn't ask was. Will they hold the weight of your turbo you'll need on that LS?

This post has LOW IQ driveled in it from top to bottom...

To start with, it should be, "This car is TOO far gone...". I don't have time TO correct your grammar. Its TOO far gone.

What really concerns me about this post is the fact that you have TOO much knowledge about how MOPARS look with neon lights.
        Can you explain that?

Is your MOPAR superior to all other cars?

That's too nice an old Mopar to cut. Personally, I wouldn't put anything but a Mopar power train in it. But it's your choice. There'll be derision in some camps, acceptance in others. The long and short is you'll be racing it. Hope it all works out for you. I'm currently putting together a '72 Demon. It came to me with a Ford 9" rear end, leaf springs and shackles and a '68 383 b block under the hood. I sold the rear end/suspension, kept and rebuilt the 383...as my Dad used to say "there's no accounting for taste said the man that kissed the cow"...goes double for our car projects.

all depends what your plans are and you wallet. like Hemi's are not installed in old fords etc. i find it odd how some are willing to install a 9 inch but freak out on a engine other than the car brand. personally i would build a driver with a dodge engine , trans and diff. in it. that me talking but it is called hot rodding. be glad you do not live in Cuba! someone would throw a bag of rice under the hood with a gerbil in a wheel if they thought it would look cool to drive it instead of planting flowers in it in the front yard. at 2500.00 , it's a good deal. i got a half rusty 69 cuda with a 360 magnum in it for 3000.00 canadian. but that would total to a dollar ninety nine for you americans. it's your car, but expect mopar freaks to complain and need meds to breath after seeing what you did, or keep the hood shut and tell them it's a stock 318 and walk away. let them get pebbles in their knees checking out the oil pan. what ? you never met a lying sandbagger at the drags before? it's all part of the game you, i or they play bud.

There was a cool car program on a while back about Cuba rides. It hurts to see what they go through to have a bad azz ride. But their skill level is high as a result too.

Yeah agree on the Mopar thing. A heart I’m a Mopar guy. Those late 60s mopars were the best looking cars on the planet. Now...
a 440 would be just what the Mopar dr ordered.
