help with barracuda back seat!

I am back to work on a 69 440 barracuda fastback that has been in pieces for 10 years, I narrowed the rear seat back to fit in between the widened wheel wells, and am recovering the seat, the question is what should be on the back of the rear seat under the carpet or was the carpet glued directly to the seat panel? The same with the carpet over the area under the window?

Carpet on back of seat glues directly to the metal back panel.

Carpet in rear gargo area glues directly to the raised steel floor panel piece.

Thanks, I will glue it directly to the steel, I have put some dynamat under the floor panel so that should help

I actually found a thin piece of what seems like a dense cardboard under the carpet on top of the steel cargo floor plate. I just pulled a mostly original car apart to redo the interior.

The replacement carpet came with such a piece, did it look like much glue was used?
