Hey @jeff alder who's good with a paint gun around us?
If your on a Budget and can handle an odd guy...Steven Gossett in Woodland. We painted several cars together...very talented but very different. His family is closely related to Clinger from MASH. If you have deep pockets Justin Nichols. He used to be my next door neighbor years ago before the last flood. He had the TV show "Wrenched." If Alan Ziebart is still around Watseka he is the best custom painter I have ever seen. A true artist. Your neighbor Fred Castonaguay in Freehills building is no slouch if you could get him to do it.Hey @jeff alder who's good with a paint gun around us?

let more people know about this!
I see what you're saying. Maybe they are looking at the retirees who might move to a warmer state. Might be incentive for them to stay here. I think we have about 2 years left to qualify.I think it sends the wrong message. They want to attract people and keep them. So hey come to illinois and we will screw you on property taxes for 30 years then you are clear. If something like that were to pass I think it should be a graduated program. Like every 5 years in your house they remove 15% or something. That way people are motivated to stay. Imo
Im right with you, Ill take it. That's over 4K a year and I have the original homestead exemptionI see what you're saying. Maybe they are looking at the retirees who might move to a warmer state. Might be incentive for them to stay here. I think we have about 2 years left to qualify.
yes you guys up there get creamed by taxes. You have seen our house, barn and property. Im glad it's not up there.I wish ours was "only" four thousand. Guessin' next year it will be double that number.
Could you even venture to guess what taxes on that property would be up here?yes you guys up there get creamed by taxes. You have seen our house, barn and property. Im glad it's not up there.
I couldn't guess...I had a family friend that used to be a circuit court judge post a filing for reduced taxes when we first bought the house. They were lowered $1800... about 4 years later it was only $600 less but better than nothing. Give me a minute and Ill post the farm and taxes.Could you even venture to guess what taxes on that property would be up here?
We must be paying for the "convenience factor" here.
https://www.realtor.com/realestatea...8336?msockid=2f3f1629fbcd6bca154a02b9fa776a73 This was my Mom's about 3 miles from my house. It was originally built around 1890. The taxes were 3600 without the farm ground.I replaced the concrete porch out front with a wooden one. Next year, the taxes went up more than I paid for the materials! I called and I think I calming explained the situation. A new tax bill was sent and it was less than the year before. Worked for me.
It took me 6.5 hours to mow it with a nice John Deere Lawn Tractor. It used to take me 2 hours with an old Allis with a belly deck ... before we turned it in to what is. There is a square burn pile in the back of the property that is always full of pruning's. There used to be a fruit tree orchard and garden where all the various pines and smoke trees are now in the photos. I couldn't keep up with all of it after my mom couldn't manage it with our jobs, property, grandkids and these damn Mopars. LOL. Mom reluctantly allowed the fruit trees to be replaced with pines. We transplanted them from the railroad ground. That took part of a summer but saved tons of time with the pruning, spraying picking and all the other upkeep.Beautiful! So many positive things to comment on but the one thing that keeps resounding in my head is: Boy! there is a lot of upkeep there to maintain the wonderful looks. Would be a fabulous bed and breakfast.
