But will it fit BB in an A body?

I know some B Body fit with modification in a BB A body.

I'm guessing they don't fit

I'm not sure about that, but I was going to open the back door, & yell for You to get the hell outta there!!!!
:elmer:

No that won't fit. If it did it would have made the whole big block A body thing much easier all these decades.

The drivers side won’t,,,because if you look at the exhaust flange opening,,,it will hit directly into the steering shaft .
The opening looks nothing like an A body unit,,,so it will not clear .

I seem to remember an economy bb swap using some b/c manifolds.
Just dont know which ones anymore.
I dont know why the passenger side would not work.

I sold a pair of 65 Bbody BB stock exhaust manifolds about 3-4 years ago, and he was using them in a Dodge Dakota with a BB.
The buyer said that guys look for them for this type of swap.

I was pretty sure they were not the B body that fit with minor steering column mods.

Thanks everyone.

I did score 2-1/2 66/67 A body bucket seat frames with backs and sides.

A bunch of small parts off of a 67 Dart that has had the doors shut for most of its life in the yard.

And the release mechanism from a 67-69 barracuda rear seat. (Reproduction parts to follow)

2 more parts picking attempts left in the next 2 months.

They will sell whole cars cheap but you have to bring your own way to move whatever needs to be moved to get to the car you want.

They have old (60s and older) MOPAR, Ford and Chevy cars (all well picked over) plus 70's to 2020's all makes.

This yard is Elliot's in Daconno, CO.

They have a Facebook page but you have to call the towing part of the company to get info.

It was a family business, the grandpa (Elliot) died a few years ago then the son tried running it then the grand son. Things happened and they shut it down.

The daughter is running it 1 day a month now till it is sold. (Houses have been planted near by so we know how this is going to end).

They will sell whole cars but you have to bring the needed lifting equipment and transport.

The yard is a mess from years of deferred maintenance.

But it's not impossible.

Those are not high performance manifolds, "log" manifolds

Best fit is '68-73 HP, but will need mods to the steering column. I have mine shaved around .040" for a little better clearance, but I haven't reinstalled the column because I'm not sure I don't have a small leak and I've been working on the AC install.

An offset master cylinder and a tin heat shield would go a long way here, Jim.
But it looks great!

Completely unnecessary, but I did pick up the offset bracket, just don't have the pushrod. We put 35,000 miles on this same setup between my old Dart and my son's Dart with ZERO brake failures.

Hi Jim ,

That looks like a good clean install job .
How much do you have to mod the column ?

And I’m assuming you shave the back side of Drivers side to tuck it closer to the head ?
Any angle mill needed to shift in at the bottom ?

Tommy

You shorten the column up to the firewall. I had it all together with no machining on the manifolds. I wanted a little more clearance so I had them shaved with no angle mill.

Thank you for clarifying this...
