Hey - let me ask you guys something.

If there was a reliable host that allowed you to link to pics to post in forums, in fact that's what it's main purpose in life was, would you be interested in signing up for it? Even if you had to pay for it?

I'm thinking about building one if there's interest in it.

No.

This is the only board I frequent that I can't upload pics directly to my posts.

How much? disgust

Don't know yet... How much do those other places cost?

FABO members would get a discount, of course. ;-)

i just signed up with photobucket.com not a bad price too i think it was 25 dallars unlimited space unlimited bandwith with premum package  :thumrigh:

I'd consider it. Picture trail is charging $20 a year for 500 pics $30 for 1000 and $40 for 1500..

Hey Brad... You know you've got your own site you can host pictures from, right? ;-)

Yea, actually I have 2, one comes w/ my roadrunner service. But if it is easy to use & resonably priced I would consider it.

Ok, I found a domain name I can use, I found some software to use.

Now I just need to see if there's a real interest in this.

Here's what I'm thinking... $20 per year gets you:

- Unlimited images allowed (up to your disk quota)
- 100 MB of disk space
- 200 MB of bandwidth per month
- Maximum file size: 1 MB
- Maximum resolution: 1024x748
- Maximum of 10 galleries
- JPEG, GIF & PNG supported, files automatically converted to JPEG with no loss
- Auto-thumbnailing
- Auto link generation including bbcode (for linking from forum sites) and HTML (for linking to other sites, such as eBay or for including in web pages)

The disk space & bandwidth numbers may change depending on how much is actually used per month, these numbers are just to start.

How does that sound? If there's interest, I may add other plans, with more or less disk space & bandwidth, and different restrictions on file sizes & resolutions.

What do you think?

That sounds like a good deal. Much better then Photisland ever was.

What type of gallery is it useing. i really like the one that came with my web space.

What name do you think is easiest to remember?

linkedimages.com
linkedpictures.com
picturelinker.com
picsforforums.com
imagesforforums.com
images4forums.com
picturesforforums.com
pictures4forums.com
whereikeepmypictures.com
whereikeepmyimages.com

BTW, "adamcantspell.com" is available. Oddly, "adamcnatpsell.com" isn't. ;-)

All of those are available... But this image host won't be for this site only!

I guess I could point one of those to the main domain so you FABO guys would have it easy. ;-)

any chance .bmp pics could be used? Alot of pics in puter have this because my scanner automatically labels everything .bmp

Nope... BMPs are generally much larger than they need to be. But it's really easy to convert from BMP to JPEG or GIF.
