Is this where car shows are going?

I like sitting at car shows and have ppl tell me all day long I Used To Have One Like That. Then ask What Year and look inside and say Oh 4 Speed.....

Think what you want... I attend a few car shows every year, if they are using the funds in a positive way... Especially if it's a decent venue and attending requires driving a good distance...

Check the flyer I posted above... $50 for a one day show in a mall parking lot... And zero mention of the money going to any charity... Cause it doesn't.. It pays for club members hotel stay during Hot August Nights... Screw that & screw them, I pay for my hotel, you can pay for yours...

WOW....use a car show to pay for your own hotel/travel? That's pretty low. I wouldn't support that either!!

I guess I'm spoiled by the Mopar club I'm in. The guys that run it have integrity. Fees/funds are low but what is collected simply goes to about 5 charities at the end of the year. Maybe $3000-$4000 total. We have WAY too many examples of "it's all about me" attitudes in our society.

Yeah, they never talk about it publicly but I know a few members & they were discussing it... Pretty dirty IMO..

Around here, since the plandemic...it seems that many want to charge people to sit in a public parking lot. Good lawn-shows are a different animal, and I'll gladly contribute to a nice setting and worthwhile cause. There are major differences in car-show venues......and I really don't care about a bowling trophy with a car on it [dust collector]. Also, car dealerships can afford to have shows without charging people to sit on hot blacktop all day.

I was at a car club meeting this week and as usual, NOBODY drove their classic car there. I used to drive the Charger but in a sort of protest, I've driven my truck the past few months.
There are nice people in the club but they remind me of the group of old men that hang out at a restaurant in the morning having breakfast , spending their time talking about the old days but never doing anything. Just a few years ago we'd have guys standing up at meetings to talk about a project that they are working on, they'd mention parts cars they are selling parts from, they'd ask for help or advice, they'd talk about pending legislation on matters that affect the hobby.
Nowadays, I am the only one doing any of those things. It is becoming pointless to even attend.

I pay for Mopars in the Park, but it is more about friends. 20-40 average from FABO get together, Meet N Greet, hang at the show and most stay at the same hotel for after show activities. It comes with 2 entries for the weekend. The hotel and 600 mile round trip that adds up the costs. But tunnel rammed big blocks are fun on road trips.
