Putting a v8 k member in,holes in member larger than the bolts,so the member can move side to side back to back. Are there any mesurements? how do you know it's in there square?
Yes they should be the right bolts they are the ones that I took out of the /6 member.Maybe I'm just thinking into it to much. Thanks for all your input I'm just going to go with it and see what happens.
FWIW - when I did the /6 to V-8 K-member swap in my '73 Dart there was no play. I think the bolts kind of lined things up for me. This is the only swap I've done, so I'm not sure if this the norm or not?
hhhhmmm?May be they changed something along the way. It's a 67 dart putting a 74 member in.Once I get out of work today I'll crack open a beer and put the member under the car for a test fit. Thanks all.
Let us know what happens. I have a 67 that uses the Shumaker conversion mounts, but I plan on swapping to a V8 K-frame next winter when I go to swap engines.
Mopardad, the K-frame bolts should have a sloped shoulder right under the head of the bolt. You start the threads, run them in and when they get to the sloped shoulder, that takes up most of the slop between the threads and the size of the hole in the K-frame. Do your bolts have this sloped shoulder?? Geof
you can use a plumb bob to get the rest of it squared up. use the front lca bolt holes and i like one of the rear spring perch bolts. mark the floor, measure diagonally until they match.
