$20k for a '69 Mustang that needs "frame" work to that extent? That's a "hard pass" for me.Well guys I had another co worker tell me that she won’t take my offer of 9k because she feels it is worth a minimum of 20k and won’t go lower even though both front rails and torque boxes fell off the car when I poked at them. She could have at least told me because I could have lost the deal on the 59.
There was a 69 Mustang sportsroof in town here for sale for at least a year. Car was pretty rough, not much of an interior, body was in primer, had a 302 automatic. Seller kept claiming it was some rare piece, and was asking stupid money for the thing. (Around $20k IIRC) I never contacted them about it but I did figure out where it was and took a drive by last fall. I didn't even slow down, what a p.o.s. it was/is, probably still sitting in the same spot.$20k for a '69 Mustang that needs "frame" work to that extent? That's a "hard pass" for me.
But good luck to 'er!
And thanks for the follow-up.
I stumbled across a white SC on either CL or Marketplace over the weekend and thought of you, Randy.I didn't get to the car show yesterday, too hot and I was just too tired. Worked on the Super Coupe Thunderbird Saturday for a few hours, just need the 2 gaskets to get it back up and running. View attachment 1716429977
Gaskets should arrive today, so I just have to get my *** out to the garage and make it happen! Rainy day today so much cooler, might be a good night to get r dun!I stumbled across a white SC on either CL or Marketplace over the weekend and thought of you, Randy.

After dinner I went out for about 2 hours, almost done, just have to refill the coolant and reconnect the intercooler charge pipes. Then hope it runs again!

So, how do I know that it's never been serviced or tuned up before? Original spark plugs and wires with 1989 date codes, plus the seal in the bottom left of the photo is the factory Teflon seal that was used on all of the intercooler pipes junctions. From what I have researched on this, those seals are no longer available from Ford, there was a guy who had reproduced them, but he no longer does, so the trick is now to use hi temp copper silicone, so I picked up a new tube.
