Worst thing just happened to me not long ago in a private conversation, kept on and on wanting his birthdate changed, it took some time and doing, I had to bother Joey about it, the member took time to bother me daily to get this fixed for him.
So Joey fixed it, I replied to him, ok all done. Not one reply, no time to say thank you or anything.
But I moved on, some members are just full of there self I guess

Yes, I believe that's what some want. I've come to the conclusion that those types don't even need an old car. Of any kind. They need a Toyota with a million mile warranty.

This is true. However, once you've committed to letting everyone smell your fart particulate, it's more about evasion rather than concealment. Like getting off at the next floor.

we were hanging out as a family the other day watching some TV
(now, dont ask me why, we got a 7 person sectional, but they all like to pile on top of each other like cats)

so im just sitting there, enjoy my show, my wife is in the spot next to me, the middle girl is laying halfway on her legs and the baby is laying somewhat on the middle girls back

all of a sudden the baby gets up and starts wailing on the middle one, and i mean putting a whooping on her
so i say, what is wrong with you?
and the baby goes "she farted on me"
the middle one almost rolled of the couch laughing
 
What is it with all of you”non helping bastards”??? These people go to a place where they should get the help they deserve and end up with a bunch of disgruntled old guys!!! You have the”knowledge” the parts and the time to do it right. I’m ashamed you don’t get a bus-like the OATS bus and fill it with parts-money- and someone knowledgeable and above all the temperament to deal with problems that the newbies have. Let me know when you get it together

Or the one about coming across a ‘69 Barracuda with a 383 4spd in a dark barn a week ago. Yup will post pictures later. Still no pictures and the person was on the forum this morning.

Who wants to conceal? I trumpet them bad boys out loud as I can. Makes me proud. If Kitty is with me, I look over at her and say "you shouldn't have ate those beans".

Best part are the arguements that take place over who's right...leading to banning and PM's .... while the op, they just back out or away in awww or cause they figured it out in the meantime.

Yes and I HAVE the EXACT radiator that will BOLT IN his car. I was going to GIVE it to him and he never responded to me.

Well said. I've asked for (and received) a ton of help and advice here, but sometimes it's just impossible to put it to work right away. I'd love to be able to spend all day every day under the hood, but that won't pay the bills. The reality is that many of us are juggling full time jobs while maintaining our homes and personal relationships, and sometimes the car just has to wait.

I hope I'm not one of these guys the thread is about, I really do try to update my threads as I make progress and use the advice given.

And I want to learn to "fish." Anyone with a ratchet can swap an alternator, but knowing how to troubleshoot and figure out that the alternator needs to be replaced is so much more valuable.

You'll know it when the lights dim and the car dies while driving down the road.
The alternator if functioning correctly will power the car with a dead battery to at least run. When it runs fine but won't crank over worth a fk or at all= dead battery/bad cell or connection resistance issue*
Easier and less a pita would be a volt meter at the batt , 13.5 -14.8 is the range of good working order. Grease monkey and diagnostic monkey are two different classes of monkey. One carefully scratches through to find the bugs... the other just throws poop aka money at it and has a conniption fit when it does go vroom vroom.

I've been guilty of throwing poop at my car, but I think as I learn more, I'm becoming more of a diagnostic monkey. I like knowing/understanding how and why my car works the way it does, and gaining this knowledge is 50% of what draws me to older cars. The cool factor is the other 50%.
