Decided to pass on the truck rims and go with steelies eh? Good choice.

Check here:

Wheel Vintiques

The rear wheels on my car are from Wheel Vintiques - 15" x 8" with 4.875" bs, small bolt pattern. I paid about $175 for them from someone who had already had them made. Nice wheels. The fronts are factory 15" x 5.5".

that's a '65 Valiant?? So the 8" rims fit in the rear...how is the clearance?

255/60R15 on 15x6.5 stock C-body rims

Tell me what i am missing here...i have a 66 valiant too, and I measure the rear wheel-well opening at about 10.5".
So how come 8" wide rims are not more popular for that a-body. Looks like most people are running 6.5" wide rims like your self?

no they aren't cheap.. well if you want the right backspace.. stock 15" mopar wheels have 4.25 backspace i believe.. they stick out too far for me. i went wheel vintiques 15x7 with 4.5" backspace.. if i did it again i'd go with 4.75 backspace... think they were $150 each with the custom backspace, then the money to paint them body color which looks better in most cases in my opinion..

which car are you referring to, "i went wheel vintiques 15x7 with 4.5" backspace.. if i did it again i'd go with 4.75 backspace"?

I’m sure cause they will rub...I have had 15x7 and I think 15x8 Cragars too but they are tight....having super stock springs helps I’m sure but everything else on the rear of the car is stock.

I guess my confusion comes about because if i put an 8" tread on an 8" wheel (width), and this is going in a 10.5 wide wheel-well....(accounting for offset to the wider side) how is it going to rub?

An 8” section width will only need about a 5.5-6” rim. It will look odd and perform badly on a 8” rim

Yup my '65 has Super Stock Springs. No issues with 7" rims and 60's.
