I hope to find a 4X2 one of that year or close (5 lug) in a plain Jane sport with a manual and once I get a handle back on life (I used to have one, but I broke it so many times, it’s worn down to a nub). I used to want a big block A body, but now it’s Dakota.

My truck fiend friend has the remains of a black ‘78 4WD Midnight Express in his personal junkyard. 360, 4 speed, 3.55 gears, rear trac-lok. Sadly, it’s almost too far gone to use for anything other than parts now.

A 1970 D-200, 383-2 4-speed, Camper Special, Factory AC, very clean original truck.

Had it about 5 years, too many vehicles, something had to go.
Loved it, wish I had more room.

I'm gonna restore it,...some day...

But seriously, folks...

Former daily, now just used as a truck (actually used as a truck as long as I've had it)-

dak-ii-jpg-jpg.jpg

Bought at 2.5 years old with 31K on the clock, now has 170,000.
Most dependable vehicle I've ever owned.
Has pulled almost a dozen cars and a few trucks half way across the state of FL.

...and then there's this-

Born with a 225 and OD 833.

Still has the OD 833 but somewhere along the way it received a 1969 440 with a mild cam upgrade.

Have I mentioned- FUN AS HELL to drive, yet?

What trim model was that called, it's been so long have already forgotten, but a midnight express is more common now.

I like the beaumonts a lot, a good read, if you can find it

The hardback is the one you really want because it's larger and easier to read, but it's prohibitively expensive.
Here is he one I mentioned earlier, it used I believe 56 plymouth wagon quarters as the bedside instead of the 57 Coronet like the Dodge and Fargo used.

And I correct myself, made in Argentina, sold in Australia, UK, Spain, amd Turkey, according to Wikipedia.
And a late 50s or early 60s, I'd like to see more of that bed

And my favorite COE, it's so ugly it's pretty. Check out the oversized 80's pentastar K car emblem. I could see Dolph Lundgren and Arnold Shrwazenegger having a knock down dragout over who would drive.

Larger and easier to read? Just what are you tryin to say? lol

Lolol! Fine print is hard for me to read now, need to change glasses again! But I would hope it would have more pictures, too. It better read itself out loud and have video pictures for the last hardback I seen, it was in the $300 range on amazon! It's been out of print for a few years (maybe decades now) so the paperbacks outnumber the hardbacks 15 to 1 on the used market. The paperback will set you back a little over 50, I know someone...

Just a plain D100/150.

Someone was attempting a Little Red Express tribute.

I also got some side stack shields with it.

I added some $10 "Express" emblems just for fun.

There was one locally for sale at one time that had similar similar stripe treatment too, it's similar the Top Hand but not a four wheel drive.

alaska doesnt count as winter?

:poke:[/QUOTE]
Not in July and August it doesn't. Trip of a lifetime, 11,000 miles and $3,000 in diesel fuel. Truck is more than willing to go back but at 76 YO I think we are done with that kind of trip. :(

Saw a COE the other day built as a catering truck. Was awesome. Will see it I can find a pic

Thanks Rainy you are correct as most of us have trucks as well! We have three of them. Wife won't let me paint hers Sublime tho! I have been looking for a Warlock but hard to find one reasonable. Hers is the red one, she calls it Brandywine. A little redneck engineering on the portable K frame and motor I sold to a neighbor! Drove it right down the road! Who says ya can't tow a cherry picker!
