Line pressure

I there a way to set the line pressure on a 727 without all of the gadgets and doohickies listed in the factory service manual. Trans clunks into gear. Otherwise trans works fine.

Usually the clunk will be coming from the rear end, but lots of times the rear band is out of anjustment causing a clunk.........kim........
